Star Wars Ep. II

Posted on 03/08/2002 3:55:29 PM PST by Ktulu

Hi there everyone. Well I did a search and couldn't find anything. Was thinking maybe it was time to gauge the interest level in this second installment. With a new trailer debuting this weekend on FOX the hype is really picking up. Most internet reports have this movie recapturing the glory that was lost with Ep.I TPM.

So are Freepers excited to see this movie or have you given your last dime to Lucas after a disappointing first prequel.

Yeah he was hard to take. I heard his role is greatly reduced in this one however.

I'd put George Lucas in for instant canonization if Jar-Jar were seen floating in space without a suit during the opening credits.

Are you kidding? Finally, we will all learn how Anakin becomes Darth Vader!

I would't miss this for the world.

I was hoping Darth Maul would reappear and cut him in two with a light saber.

One word: "The Star Wars Holiday Special". Or is that two words?

I'm as excited about this as I was about Episode One.

I have not seen Episode One.

Darth - PING!

C'mon - The Phantom Menace wasn't that bad!

The only thing that disappointed me about Episode I was the fact that I read everything I could about it before it was released, and I was left with fewer surprises when I actually saw it. I'll try (but my will is weak) to read less about Episode II to avoid spoiling anything this time - I shouldn't even be on this thread! I'm sure it will be hard to avoid all of the hype.

Jar Jar was somewhat obnoxious, but he didn't ruin the movie like some people said. I understand he returns in the upcoming movie. I also believe that it will reveal some background on Boba Fett. That should be very cool.

BTW - is there a release date yet?

That would be so quick though - just the surprised look on his CGI face as he fell into two pieces. Decompression lingers ever so much longer ...

That just gave me a scary flashback. Twenty minutes of Wookiie family life with no subtitles.

"Whaaargg!"

I'm looking forward to Hillery!'s cameo appearance.

What part does she play again?

I understand the make-up was 6 hours of shear torture,
and that was just getting it off before they could start filming.

News: Debut of Full Episode II Trailer
February 28, 2002

The full trailer for Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones will soon arrive in theaters and starwars.com, but the public will get its first look at the two-and-a-half-minutes of brand new footage Sunday, March 10 on FOX television.

Shown in its entirety the full trailer, titled "Clone War," will air between original episodes of "Malcolm in the Middle" (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT) and "The X-Files" (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). The trailer will make its big screen debut with Ice Age beginning Friday, March 15.

Attack of the Clones is set ten years after the events of The Phantom Menace. The galaxy has undergone significant change, as have Obi-Wan Kenobi, Padmé Amidala and Anakin Skywalker, who are thrown together for the first time since the conflict between the Trade Federation and Padmé's home planet, Naboo. Anakin has grown into the accomplished Jedi apprentice of Obi-Wan, who himself has transitioned from student to teacher, while Padmé is a distinguished Senator. Anakin and Obi-Wan are assigned to protect Padmé, whose life is threatened by a faction of political separatists. As powerful forces prepare to collide in epic battle, Anakin and Padmé find themselves torn between duty and honor and a love that is forbidden. These heroes face choices that will impact not only their own fates, but also the destiny of the Republic.
