Whoops, I just read elswhere in the Bible that "thou shall not kill". First "an eye for an eye" and now "thou shall not kill". That makes it real clear! What other diametric oppositions are there to provide a real solid clarity to the message?

God sends His Holy Spirit to indwell the true seeker (those who accept as their Lord and Savior, and believe in, His Son, Jesus Christ) to make known to them the meaning of His words in the bible. It is one of many miracles promised to and received by all believers.

To take one isolated passage here, and another isolated passage there, and juxtapose them as though this had any significance other than as Satan's work is sad. You are a very willing minion of his evil.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness unto him, neither can he know them because they are spiritually discerned (1Cor.2:13)

You have to be a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ to understand the scriptures. The fact that they are in plain English does not mean that they are not spiritual. Since you have rejected God and His word, He will not show you what those words mean in their various contexts.

Son of man, these men have set up idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face; should I be enquired of at all by them (Ezk.14:3)
