If ever there was a situation begging for a tactical nuke, this is it.
We have a massed enemy located in one isolated place, far from non-combatants.
I say nuke 'em and not shed the blood of one more American serviceman.

The soldier was a sailor - USN Special Operations, a SEAL. He fell from the aircraft when the pilot made a rapid evasive maneuver to avoid an RPG. The soldier was apparently alive when he hit the ground, and most likely still armed. We don't know if he attempted to surrender - IMO that's not likely given his occupation.

More than likely he was killed as a combatant - not a POW. He had the means to continue to resist, but he was outnumbered and outgunned. This guy had some rotten luck, but there is no reason to believe he didn't die fighting.

Small consolation, but we are likely going to kill damn near every AQ/Taliban troop breathing in or near the Gardez complex, and you can rest assured they will be dying in a most unpleasant fashion., on the receiving end of a determined, violent and incomprehensibly destructive operation.
