? About the Soldier Killed On The Ground
3-6-02 | self

Posted on 03/06/2002 3:56:35 AM PST by paul in cape

It seems to me that the soldier who fell out of the copter was captured by the enemy was then a Prisoner Of War. Therefore, he was not killed in combat, but executed as a prisoner. I've checked the newswires, and have yet to see the press release from Ramsey Clark about the mistreatment of prisoners.

It's understandable to be outraged, but are you a savage? Will you pull the trigger yourself?

Yes!

Fox 'n Friends are saying he was 'MURDERED' and where's the "outrage?" They are very upset about this and the lack of outrage and news coverage condemning what happened to the solider.

This thread deserves a bump. We need to make people aware of the double standard.

It was just reported that his execution was caught on film in real time. There was nothing our men could do to help!

BURN THE GENEVEA CONENTION! IT WAS NEVER MEANT FOR AMERICANS, IT WAS WRITTEN TO PROTECT OUR ENEMIES ONLY!

We refuse to call the people we capture "prisoners of war" because it would qualify them for a specific type of treatment under the geneava (sp?) convention.

No, we refuse to call them prisoners of war because, under the Geneva Convention, they do not qualify as such: They do not wear organized uniforms and do not have an organized command structure, among other things. According to the Geneva Convention, they thus cannot be considered POWs.

Where's the friggin RED CROSS investigating the treatment of OUR boys???? Did our guy have his religious desires catered to? Did he have an opportunity to go on a hunger strike to impress the hand-wringing liberal media?

It does and we are. The problem is, we're speaking to the choir on this forum....we are all aware of the double standard. We've got to get the message across to others that follow like sheep whatever the media and the liberal democRATS say and do.

Heard on Fox this morning that one of the prisioners at Gitmo has no legs and - at American Taxpayer expense - is being fitted for 2 artifical legs.

Also heard on the news this morning that an American was caught by 3 Taliban and executed.

Kinda makes your whole point moot.

That is NOT why we don't call them POW's.

There is no comparison. Our guys are in uniform (and therefore identifiable), and members of a regular army. The al Queda members are neither. They are merely mercenaries and, as such, not covered by the Geneva Convention.

"but given the nature of the enemy, I doubt he was killed by a bullet"

The reports I have seen seem to indicate that we have some sort of video of this soldier being captured and killed. However the reports are not saying how he was killed.

I would be willing to bet big money that it was not a bullet to the head but more along the lines of the Daniel Pearl execution.

The question remains: Where are Ramsey Clark, Sheila Jackson Lee, Al Sharpton, the AACLU (Anti-American Civil Liberties Union), PETA, Tom Daschle, Dick Gephardt, John Fitzgerald Kerry.

How about Helen Thomas, Robert Reno, Joe Conason, Alan Colmes, Robert Reich, Ted Kennedy, Leaky Leahy, Jumpin' Jim Jeffords, Gary Condit (oh, never mind), Robert Byrd, Maxine Waters, Hillary!, Janet Reno, ad nauseum.

..............

Well?........

.............

I'm waiting!

Our out-rage will go out, that I am sure but should'nt it also go into the faces, (get in the face) of every Liberal that demands our men and women fight and die for them but also demands our Humane treatment of these barbarians.

Stop and think, if, if the prisoners at Getmo have heard just an inkling of this, can you imagine their joy? They know every Civil Rights activist is out there on thier behalf but these animals would slit our throats at the drop of a hat, knowing, that we are so "stupid" , the Americans will still protect them,

Their peace of mind, their assurance that they will be protected and safe should be shaken up, they need to know the face of fear. They should be shown just how despised they are, they are not human nor humane.

If this soldier were a loved one of your's, his execution caught on film, his killers dancing with joy at his death, what would your thoughts be?

The al-Qaeda and Taleban have not been shown what "real" fear is, this is something they need to be taught, they need to be taught why children "fear" the night.

I knew my comment would draw some fire. A point I'd like to make is the Gito prisoners didn't kill the American soldier. They very well may have killed Americans. If that can be shown then I'd too would be happy to help them die for their cause.

In case no-one has educated you yet, the reason is that the goons down in Gitmo aren't called POWs is because they don't FIT the definition of POWs (no uniforms, organized fighting force, etc., governmental affiliation, etc.), while our soldiers clearly WOULD. It's NOT a matter of having it both ways.
