The Church does not recognise divorce and does not deny the Eucharist to divorced persons. What it forbids is the willful remarriage of those "divorced" person and thier desire to receive the Eucharist. Any sin can be forgiven, any sin! Butpart of the necessary condition of that forgiveness is accepting the civil punishment for that sin. Herein lies the problem. If a priest confesses his sin and is told to turn himself in, the Church should follow up since he, the priest works for them and us. This whole controversy has hidden agendas for married and gay priests and a general anti-Catholic bias that is rampant in the media today. The Gates Of Hell shall not prevail. If Jesus started some other church I wish someone would show how they know it. Throughout history people have made mistakes but the Church will outlast every attack and Jesus, the Church(Saul why are you persecuting ME?) will prevail!

great minds think alike :)
it's amazing how many people - including Catholics - "think" they know what the Church teaches
Steve: I attended our Parish Mission last night and it's awesome. Fr Dupont is preaching and teaching
on the Gospel of Mark and he's wonderful. He keeps it to an hour - so if you and Nina have time
you should think of popping in.
