USO Canteen FReeper Style....Sunday....March 3,2002

USO Canteen Freeper Style

War has come to our shores. It was committed on American soil.  We have been able to live in Freedom only because of those who have fought in the past wars giving life, limb and all the sacrifices for us to live in Freedom and go about our day without fear.

On September 11, 2001, that comfort, that feeling of living in a land that would not be attacked ended.

William T. Sherman said it succinctly, "War is hell."

The day has come for this Nation and its people to understand that there is a risk in losing its freedom, and in reality there always has been. We have ONLY stayed free because of the sacrifices of our military, our warriors.

This is about saving the future of America. Aristotle said, "We make war that we may live in peace."

We are seeing the American Flag flying at homes now more than ever in my lifetime. We are seeing the American Flag flying on vehicles and people wearing Flag pins and small Flags on their clothes. America is united in the cause for Freedom and for our country to WIN against the evil that came upon our land to kill and hurt us. To change our way of life and to destroy America which is US, you and me. To take away our precious Freedom.

This is the Freeper version of the USO Canteen. Where soldiers could come and feel a small part of being at home. It is a place where you that have family in the military can post a thought to a loved one that might be able to read it far away from home. A place where we that support our military can help support them, post to them, fun graphics showing the price in America and our troops. Poems, quotes, cartoons, or articles of how America is behind our troops.

Those in our military are our Nation's warriors. Let us join hands, fly our Flag and let the world know how important our warriors are to us....And that our MILITARY, our Warriors, are America's TRUE HEROS!

"No Marine was ever honored for what they received. Honor was the reward for what they gave." (Anonymous) CHIEF gave his all in many ways. He touched our lives and his friendship meant so much to all of us. He will live in our hearts forever, and his friendship will always be a bright and shining memory in our hearts and souls.

One of the pilots must have been feeling frisky, and tipped his hat a little, because what happened next was awesome. From the far end of the runway he came and it was almost like he lifted his landing gear without gaining elevation till he was right on us. Then he turned that bird straight up till he was out of sight!

What a great memory.
Heres another one. It makes me dizzy lookin at it!

An Air F-15C Eagle of the 27th Fighter Squadron, Langley AFB, VA pulls through the top of a loop during a training mission over the Virginia peninsula.

Thanks. My wife and I lived by the beach in Port Hueneme, CA. We were just down the street from the Naval Base. We had a lot of friends that were Seabees. Great group of people.

Thank-you for the second shot! These are tax dollars at work that I enjoy seeing,(not to mention all the great people behind the scenes that make things like this happen, or who [think everyone, especially ground troops] they protect). It keeps us safe!

"We also recognize the ladies as kindred spirits who embrace the same ideals as we do - love of God, country and family. It's not a matter of age; it's a matter of maturity."

Thank you, and I agree. :-)

Umm,,, so you have your daughters scoop out your driveway, huh? I hope you have 2 Uni-loaders,,, with cabs.

This snow storm came at just the very most appropriate time in my life,, I've spent a very relaxing weekend at home, away from the (very) maddening crowds. My pain levels are way down after spending most of yesterday in the Lazy Boy.

Tomorrow I forge back into the fire. Thanx for caring, friend.

Just got home from church. Headed for the wood pile and hauled a huge supply up to the house. Tonight is supposed to be the coldest of the year here in central Kentucky.

I wish that , well if I owned the media... LOL..... I would have a special each night on every branch of the service and every different job that is done to make it happen and tell the why's and how's of each one.

Show how important every job is and without one the others would not be as effective. REAL reporting and educate the public.

Also in schools I think it should be taught too. A class on our military to educate, honor them and teach our children why they are so important. No rewriting history either. NO no NO. Bring into the classrooms Veterans from each war and have them speak about that war and what they can teach the young.

I get carried away writing about it, but this is what I would have if I was in charge.

Thank you B4 for serving and for all you did to make the other Branch's of the service function the way they needed to do.

((((( hug ))))

I always thought there should be a logo right under the word Military before any of the Branch's are mentioned... Working Together for Victory.....
Then show the Seabee's, Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, etc.

giggle....Beamer and Morgan are always up to something I love it !!!

I like it when you can spend the night at the Canteen. Billie and I wanted the Canteen to be big enough in case anyone wanted to stay the night, so that is perfect.

Thank you for posting that truism. I agree wholeheartedly; it is such a wonderful attitude among our "fellas" here.
