AHMADABAD, India March 1 Angry Hindus set fire to homes in a shantytown in western India on Friday, killing at least 27 Muslims as they slept, police said. The latest violence raises the death toll in the series of attacks on the religious minority to more than 100.
At least 76 people died in attacks Thursday, when Hindu rioters stormed a Muslim neighborhood and then kept firefighters away for hours, dragging out one former lawmaker and burning him alive. The attacks were revenge for a Muslim assault on a train.
In Friday's attack in Narora, on the outskirts of Ahmadabad, about 300 Hindus set fire to a Muslim-dominated shantytown in an industrial area at about 2 a.m., Deputy Police Commissioner P.B. Gondya told The Associated Press.
"We have recovered 27 charred bodies. The people were asleep when the incident happened," Gondya said. At least seven women and eight children were among the dead, he said. Another 42 people were hospitalized, some with burns over 80 percent of their bodies.

Do ya think the UN will critize the US any more on how we handle things ..
Good point. I really think this should cause them to ask themselves Why They Are So Hated, don't you?
Whose foreign policy do you mean? This is all part of a long-running domestic feud between Hindus and Muslims in India.
Generally, there is a problem in the Islamic world. Muslims regularly view unprovoked attacks on women and children non-combatants as acceptable. Israel, Afganistan, India, Philipines, New York, etc. Until the murder of innocents is anathema to Muslims everywhere, they are moral outcasts. Cheering on infanticide does not become a people.
For a contrary example, if uniformed Palestinian soldiers were only engaging Israeli troops, one could plausibly call them freedom fighters. I would still disagree with their approach and aims, but a battle for freedom is not inherently morally reprehensible. But the Palestinians prosecution of their struggle displays a pagan brutality long expunged in the West.
This is not to excuse Hindu reprisals. But let's recall who started this latest bloodletting of the babes.
Have no fear, captain america, will resolve all conflicts...
Lets just remember that its people like Sharpton, Jesse, et al, who want to polarize this nation.. just look at what this polarization can lead to.. no friggin thanks..
This just pains me to no end </Sarcasm
The article also said the muslims were a minority. Why,I thought they were everywhere and dominating the world?

Most seem to be peace loving...and then there are the Muslims.
This crap would be easier to swallow if there was at least SOME level of Muslim outrage expressed following the 9/11 attacks. Instead, all we heard from the Muslims was "The attacks might (or might not) have been wrong, but..."
