'You know...
Jamie Sale and David Pelletier are good skaters and good guys.
But then, why don't we have three gold medals? (at the Olympics)
Russian skater Elena Berezhnaya, after she and partner Anton Sikhardulidze were forced to share pairs figure skating gold.

Ungrateful whining ping..

What do you mean? They already said that if they (the Russians) had been performing the same routine for three years they wouldn't have made a mistake either...

I'm sure the fans at the ice shows this year will tell them how they feel.

The Russian pair was better -- more fluid, natural.

I noticed it RIGHT AWAY, they felt EXTREMELY uncomfortable on the podium with the Canadians. The female russian kept forcing a smile. She looked very upset that she had to share the gold. If you have a chance to watch a re-run of the awards, watch her face and smile. It was plain to see how disgusted she was over the decision to share the gold. Jamie was constantly TRYING to hold hands with her and she kept avoiding Jamie's hand.

Must disagree with the fluid, natural comment. You couldn't have been watching carefully.
"Fluid and natural" is a PERFECT description of the Canadian couple.
You might also add, romantic, playful and a joy to watch!
The Russians were good but Berezhnaya has been whining and beeen a poor sport since the descision.
Her partner, in contrast has been a gentleman.
(He's also smart. Her attitude will long be remembered.)

If I was one of the Canadian skaters, I would have REFUSED the Gold Medal unless they stripped the Russians of their ill-gotten gain. Giving a second Gold to them just shows the IOC's complicity in this whole farce.
As far as I'm concerned, they can take their damn Olympics, together with The UN, and dont let the door hit them in the A**!
To: RnMomof7
Bingo. By allowing the Russian pair to keep their illicitly acquired gold medals, the Russian officials are being rewarded for their attempted fraud. Downgrading them to silver would have been more than fair.
To: FixitGuy
Sale was whinny until she got her gold. Her partner was a lot more diplomatic about the whole thing. One would also be expected to have perfected retreads. So now we know what to expect from the Olympics from now on.

We're in the minority, but I agree with you. I would have given the Russians the Gold. My whole family thought so as we watched.

They were coming out the night that this happened. The russians were always a pair of poor sports. And they must not have any pride since they accepted a gold medal that was stolen/bought for them.

I say let them die yet one more time..but this time bury them!
