First television documentaries wed two strangers.
Then they document the making of a movie. (with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck)
Now HBO wants to field a presidential candidate,' Brown Jenkins writes.
I don't know about the logistics of this:if HBO will help pay for the candidacy, do they just want a Time Warner pupper in the White House?
HBO gives you free advertising and a platform from which to espouse your beliefs.
How's that for a confict of interest?

Who will be the next George W.?

Dammit! They stole my idea! I had already planned a run in 2008! I figured I'd get myself a tour bus, and my harley, and get some tax payer funds, drive around the country hold a few poker runs and pig pickins wherever I stopped and take the podium... have the wife and friends tape the whole mess as well.... Damn, HBO... I have been planning it on paper since 1994... oh well. No chance in hell of winning, but maybe spread some ideas and have some fun...

Do it at the local level.
To: codebreaker
NO fun in that, half the reason for doing it is to get a tax paid 3 month long motorcycle tour of the united states :)

Pick a big state like Texas or California!
To: gnarledmaw
I'd do it, but unfortunately I don't meet the age requirement.

Pick a big state like Texas or California! Nah, just spent 14 months in California, you can keep it.. and Texas... well, I prefer to go places where English is understood by all...

Just like ABC's "Making the Band", only more power when you're done.

#61, theres enough ways to come at that question to choke the server.
Any "up 'n commers" that you have in mind? This kid sounds like hes off to a good start but America has to wait until 2022 for his first shot at it.

Let's go Clinton's a liar, or Rnmomof7 (suggesting that one to piss off some folks...lol), OrthodoxPresbyterian, Registered, dittomom, Principled, and of course, Jim Robinson.
To: codebreaker
I'm too young to apply.
To: Dan from Michigan
President Dan from Mi has a nice ring to it though...:)
To: gnarledmaw
I'm too young to do it, I'll only be 31 at nomination time, and just barely that. I wonder what the age requirements are for California, though.... Plus, I'll be old enough for the House and the Senate, though. Hmmm, Dianne Feinstein's Senate seat will be up for 2006 and 2012........

=( 3 years shy of being legal. Damn... I thought it was all over when you hit 21.
Oh yeah... I can rent a car at 25, yipee!!! < /sarcasm>
Single, female, not-white, and not-liberal... think I could fool the DemonRats??

So Tonya couldn't run for Congress either? LOL! You're bound and determined to get her into public life, aren't you? ;)
Depending on where she lives, she probably can't even vote. Unless the Demmies have their way...
To: gnarledmaw
But I already have a job.
