Karen Hughes' upset in Ladies Ice Skating....

Now that would have been an upset if KAREN Hughes had won! LOL!

Daughty One...everything I've heard and read has been very complimentary of Utahns and the Mormons. I haven't seen any bashing, for which I was thankful!

Make that Sara Hughes

Actually, I think you can make that Sarah Hughes. Since she's Jewish,
I would imagine she uses the traditional spelling.

I cant wait for the 'Child of Light' to hook up with the rock band KISS tonight.

They should adopt him like 'mini me' in the Austin Powers movies- take him backstage with the groupies, show him around the bars etc.

Sounds to me like their Dads were pretty darn dedicated and wonderful too!

I agree... what man would give up a job and move 2,000 miles so his daughter could have the best coach? I can't imagine that sacrifice, from either parent.

One of the interesting things when viewing these old film clips is to compare it to today's standards. Neither of those two would come close to getting a medal but they are still classic performances. Same with Scott Hamilton. He didn't perform to the level we see today athletically but he will always be a favorite.

If people didn't have a tear in their eyes when Derrek Para or Jim Shea got their gold meadals, they should check for a pulse.

My favorite was reading FR while the opening ceremonies were on live for all except those of us living in the West!

Derek Parra is so cool. When he took his silver medal into Home Depot to show it to his co-workers, he rounded up the shopping carts in the parking lot. And when he was interviewed by Costas, he said that he wished his baby daughter was there so he could hold her and tell her the story of how her daddy won a gold and silver medal at the Winter Olympics. Great guy!

I really can't wait to see N'Sync. They are the best band ever in all of music history. They dance so neato and dress so hip. They are music wonders! The whole world is waiting to see them.

Ok, I'll bite. That's sarcasm, right?

Hook, line and sinker! :)

And people were really on Dubya for adding that extra phrase, but it was Juan Antonio Samaranch in 1996 who broke with that tradition by not declaring Atlanta 'The Greatest Games Yet'

Payback is a witch, I.O.C. tell that to the China commies in 2008.

I passed through SLC going north on Feb 10th and south on Feb 18th. The traffic impact on I-15 was nil. The best benefit from the Olympics for me was the vastly improved quality of I-15 from Provo to north SLC. I watched less than 15 minutes of Olympic coverage on TV during the whole 17 days. Considering that was the sum total of all the TV I watched....

I just got off the phone with my sister, who is an Olympics volunteer. She called me from the stadium, she is at the Closing Ceremonies!!! Her boyfriend surprised her with tickets. I am soooo jealous.

I thought Derrek was going to lose it sooner during the national anthem, and he did at the end.

It is refreshing when you know that this is a real guy working at the Home Depot, and the tears are not maunfactured for public consumption.

And the jumping for joy on the stand was great, he has a Wheaties box in his future if the company is smart.
