WHY did they deserve to win? I think they think they are entitled to it. Bah.

She is definitely old guard Russian, probably coached back to the 1964 Communist pair champions..

Apparently there are alternate judges. Sort of like Miss America.
Alternate judges for codebreaker's panel: Donnie Osmond, Marie Osmond, Karl Malone, Orrin Hatch, and a randomly selected member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Now we know why the French judge was intimidated.

Did you notice that LKL showed pictures of the Canadians on the stand receiving their silver medals, but the absence of a picture of the Russian pair on the stand. Their attitude on this interview tonight was very different from the images that we saw on the night they received "the medal that they deserved."

I honestly don't know. Is this a sporting event like the SuperBowl, or something akin to the WWF? I mean, this isn't the first time a figure-skating judge has made a questionable ruling.

I think the Harlem Globetrotters is more on the up and up than the Ice Dancing. At least we dont know by how many points the Washington Generals will lose by More to the point, you can look at the scoreboard and see who is winning. It doesn't require an "expert" to tell you who is better.

Dont forget John Stockton!

Good question.
Why? The Russian team thinks they deserve to win because it was their turn in the judging, in other words, they said (paraphrased) "one time Candaians get judged better, one time we get judged better"..."it was based on Technical program". See, they deserved to win, wink, wink.
The coach herself, signed off with saying that the Russian Teams have always "dominated" figure skating. She made it sound like it was just a case of sour grapes. Bahhhh...Boooo.

I think this is the first time that one has admitted to an official that there was a fix. Russia is pretty powerful in the world of skating which is big bucks.
I can't figure out why she admitted it but this will fuel the jokes about french surrender for a long time to come :-) I dont know if it is illegal but I would say that if it is true then the skaters have reason to file a lawsuit.

You are correct the pairs and the Ladies Programs are the 'Super Bowl' of the Winter Olympics.
There was talk of this eastern bloc voting last time when Nancy Kerrigan lost to the drunken lush Oksana Baiul.

"The Russian team says "they deserved to win". "Oh well, what do you expect them to say? Its not their fault the Judges are corrupt. I feel sorry for them, having to defend themselves. Still its fun watching the Olympic officials squirm, pompous suits that they are:)

Since Clinton is so desperate for relevance, maybe they could make him president of the IOC. It looks like he'd fit right in.

Looks like Bob Costas needs to have a chat with Brian Williams.

"Who will be the next to make a 'run for the border'?My money is on the Polish judge."
The Polish judge is trying to book an international flight to New Mexico.
