Bill Salier is running up against Greg Ganske in the primary.

Ganske has in the past year:
1) Voted against the first House Stimulus plan
2) Sign a petition for Campaign Finance Reform Bill
3) Voted in favor of federal funding of Planned Parenthood
4) Voted in for the Domestic Partners Act
5) Supports Ted Kennedy's Patient's Bill of Rights
6) Votes against the President 30% of the time
7) Rates a D- with the NRA and a F with Gun Owners of America
8) Support the federal funding of Embronic Stem Cell research
9) Voted to Federalize Airport Security

We have run career politian after another in Iowa and lost. We lose because Harkin slices and dices their voting record. Problem solved--Salier doesn't have one. He will have to go up against a Marine that will not back down on his conservative principles. He is not unknown in Iowa. He is very popular with conservatives and independent thinkers. He is carismatic, well-spoken, and has the ability to get across his message of protecting the Constituition.

You have posted the same rhetoric about Ganske probably 20 times now. We know that he is a moderate. We know he supports some things that he should not. To beat someone like Tom Harkin you need someone with a. name recognition and b. the ability to attract independent voters. Ganske has both of these qualities. Salier will not attract independent voters, plain and simple. Morales in Texas campaigned out of the back of his pickup truck also. What happened? A popular Senator but him to a pulp.

Well, I'll believe he truly supports smaller government when he speaks out against farm subsidies.

BTW, does anyone know how one can get in on this gravy train? Can one just start being an unsuccessful farmer to qualify, or does one have to have a certain number of years experience of failure before the government starts paying you more than what your crop is worth? I'd sure like some of this dough.
