Larry asked them about it just now on Larry King Live (2-11-2), and they refused to deny it.

I'd say it's totally inexcuseable. This doesn't mean he was a accomplice,though.

I never said the father was an accomplice! I said he was irresponsible. Please don't get me mixed up with someone else. I'm not one of the ones who say their lifestyle caused the girl's abduction. Basically all I know is that the girl's gone, the parents were irresponsible on that particular night and that the parents are swingers. That's as far as I'm willing to go right now. I haven't connected any of those points together to say that any one of those factors led to any other factor. But I'm also not discounting the possibilities out of hand, and there are lots of possibilities in this case.

Actually, I logged off so Alex could use the pc. No, the winds did not shift unfavorably. You can spend your whole life believing that no heterosexual ever molests, or that no one does while claiming to be a Christian. If it's safe in that fantasy world of yours, stay there.

Fitz, I haven't read this whole thread, so forgive me if it's been said before BUT...

The Mother actually denied any contact with the neighbor with the exception of saying hello to him a couple of times outside while checking her mail. (I HEARD her say it) This would eliminate her going dancing with him?

They refuse to go into their "swinging" life style, saying it has no bearing on the case. But they don't deny it, either.

Two ODD facts. The first is the sign they made "Danielle COME HOME". It is odd to use those words, almost as if the child has run away. Weird.

And the last ODD fact, is she was being interviewed and said (paraphrased) "The children and I PRAY every night TO Danielle, for her safety" and then abruptly changed the words to "FOR" Danielle. Little slip up? We pray TO her? It smells!

Scummy life style? What about Larry King's lifestyle ... ex-Miami bookie ... a little embezzlement ... a little jail time ... a lot of swinging. Let's face it, whren it comes to Sainthood this guy ain't no St. Geraldo Rivera!

"...she was asleep when she was taken."

You know this? She was taken?

Most 13 year-olds that I read about disappearing are runaways.

I have yet to defend the parents. I am attacking people who make up lies and spread rumours here in FR.

My original question on the whole thing, was how could a lifestyle that parents felt compelled to hide or conceal from their children, be defensible?

Quite frankly the fact you ask this question makes me think you are one of two things, 1) a person who has never had children or 2) very foolish.

I know of no adult who does not do things they keep concealed from their children, not because they believe what they are doing to be wrong, but because they are ADULT and as adult activities are not meant for children's consumption. It does not mean that they believe what they are doing is wrong or immoral, but that it is not appropriate for children. My wife and I don't bare our sex life to our children, nor would we, and I would not expect most others to. I don't tell my children about the times I have gotten toasted on rare occassions either.

You believe that an adult lives should be open books for children? If you believe this and raise your kids this way I would be tempted to classify yourself as a bad parent. Adults engage in adult activities, adult activities are just that ADULT in nature, they are not for children's consumption. My job as a parent, (hell anyones job as a parent) is to raise their children up to be productive and proper adult human beings. To achieve that goal we protect and educate them on the world as they are able to accept it. You think that these parents are bad parents because they engage in an adult activity they would not openly discuss with a 7,5 and 2 year old (if I remember the kids ages correctly)? Personally I would question any parents who discussed intimate sexual details of their lives with children of this age, regardless of how wild or mild that sex life may be.

Do you discuss your intimate sex life with your children? I doubt you do, so why would you expect others to do so?

Most people don't think sex outside of a marriage when one is married is acceptable either. Your point?

From your previous posts you talk about "non-approved sex" from those who disagree with you. I'm sure the NAMBLA folks would use the exact same tact.

Do I have a feeling that something monsterous is going to come to light, based on the things that I've reading here, and based on the way they seem to be acting, etc.?(my 'feeling', I realize)..........you bet.

My feeling too.

I hesitate to join this thread having only read a few posts, but...........From day one I have believed that things don't seem right and it may take time for investigators to develop the events that contributed to Danielle's disappearance. Perhaps Westerfield and one, or both parents are involved somehow.

It may not be fair to judge the behavior of anyone who is experiencing the pain of a lost child, but when I saw (on the news) the dad at the son's baseball game last week, acting like he hadn't a care in the world, it sent a chill up my spine.

Yes, but the quote you listed was not from me. Misquoting isn't right, I don't care which side of the debate you're on. I don't care if someone disagrees with what I say, but I really hate being blamed for something I didn't say.

Luis, if it turns out that what I've been reading, and repeating here, is untrue, I will apologize, as well I should. What I said about projecting is not really beneath me. You stated that you wouldn't be surprised to see us write that the child being taken was some kind of divine retribution--a thought that simply horrifies me. You are projecting certain beliefs onto me (and possibly others) that couldn't be further from the truth. Now will you apologize for that? SneakyPete not only misquotes me, but suggests I think all sex is evil. Again, nothing could be further from the truth.

Note to debate participants: if we find out we're wrong about something, it's okay to apologize. Several points gained, no points lost.

Meanwhile, having said "my say" about what I think of the van Dam kidnapping, I'm going to wait before saying more until the facts start coming out. And they will, probably not only via the news, but also through books, teevee movies, and articles in Vanity Fair (or some such). Luis, if you're right about none of this being true, I will return to this thread and apologize.

Pete, I'm not apologizing to you for any reason because you were dead wrong about everything you said about me. You assumed things that are so far off-base, one might almost wonder if you're hallucinating. You don't know me. You don't know anything about me, and you've just proven it.

I don't know that much about Newt, but Clinton--I wouldn't let that pervert within a mile of one of a child, not even his own. We'll see how "responsible" he and Hillary! were in raising Chelsea, when she eventually turns on them and writes her tell-all book.

"Well then at this point where there has been no proof whatever that Danielle's parents "knew or had good cause to suspect were a danger"..."

Greg, according to published reports, some of them posted on this thread, both parents at different times noticed the alarm system was tripped, and doors to the outside were ajar--yet they never checked on the children. Eventually we'll know if this occurred because the parents were too drunk/stoned, or involved in...other pursuits...to care. But for now, we do know this much.

I have one of those feelings, too, and I can't tell you how much I hope we're both wrong.

Jetliner Lust Attracts F-16s

By JOHN MARZULLI and BILL HUTCHINSON
Daily News Staff Writers

randy, drug-fueled romp in a New York-bound jet's rest room sparked a midair terror scare that sent a pair of F-16 fighter jets scrambling, authorities revealed yesterday.

But the red alert aboard American Airlines Flight 101 from London on Friday gave way to red faces when authorities discovered all the fuss was over two amorous British men.

Police said the passengers, whose names were not released, admitted smoking crack cocaine and having sex in the cramped rest room.

The miles-high ordeal began about 8:15 a.m. Friday on the London-to-New York flight, said an American Airlines spokeswoman.

Flight attendants complained to the pilot that the two men were acting suspiciously, making four or five trips to the rest room together.

"A captain had requested that the local authorities meet the two passengers at the gate at Kennedy," said airline spokeswoman Sonja Whitemon.

Air Force Listens In

Air Force officials overheard the captain's radio dispatch to American Airlines operations and sent two F-16s to intercept the jetliner over the Atlantic Ocean, said Federal Aviation Administration officials.

Whitemon insisted the airplane's crew did not ask for the military escort.

"The captain requested that that not happen because he didn't believe the situation was that serious, but it happened anyway," Whitemon said.

The two passengers were asleep when the plane touched down at JFK and were escorted off by Port Authority, Customs and FAA agents.

No drugs were found on the men, who were not charged with any crimes. Immigration officials denied them entry into the country because they admitted smoking crack in the rest room, law enforcement officials said.

The men were put back on a plane bound for London later Friday, officials said.

PRIDE, the first deadly sin.

You haven't done anything but repeat this nonsense over and over again. Swinging is adultery, according to the Bible.

I am honored, as I said before........there is a such thing as honor with humility. All you've done here is criticize others because they refuse to see it your way.......talk about pride!

Proverbs 13:17-19

13:16 Every prudent [man] dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open [his] folly.

13:17 A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador [is] health.

13:18 Poverty and shame [shall be to] him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.

13:19 The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but [it is] abomination to fools to depart from evil.

You can call me every name in the book for all I care.

You are doing all the name calling here. In the name of Jesus of course.

Jesus encountered a crowd of people stoning an adultress, commanded that only those free of sin should cast stones. Then he looked at her and told her to go sin no more.

You are still at the rock-throwing, name-calling stage. Then you hide behind Bible verse that you are not worthy of quoting to justify your name-calling.

Hate the sin and love the sinner my brother.

And quit that pride, it has become your downfall.

The Van Dams need REAL Christians around them, comforting them with prayer, and telling them about the love of God.

Not judgemental blowhards calling them perverts and deviants.

Ask yourself, is what you have done on this thread what Jesus would have done?

Would Jesus be busy calling them names, or would he be trying to comfort them?
