When the attorney general of the United States purports to make laws instead of enforcing them, we are indeed in very deep trouble. Such is the case with the so called Anti-Terrorism Act which Attorney General Ashcroft presented to the legislature for rubber stamping. What is the difference between what is happening with our constitutional system and what Lenin and Stalin did in the darkest days of Bolshevik rule? Is not the Congress merely a rubber stamp for what the executive and its officers want done? If there is a difference between the former USSR, and the U.S. today, I would like to have it pointed out.
Every member of the legislature should be obliged to read and study Washington's Farewell Address which ought to have been made a part of the Constitution, and then be obliged to take a test on what they have absorbed, before being allowed to continue in their posts. Particulary, we would invite President Bush, and Attorney General Ashcroft, to observe the following extract from Washington's memorable speech:
"It is important likewise, that the habits of thinking in a free country should inspire caution in those intrusted with its administration, to confine themselves within their respective constitutional spheres, avoiding in the exercise of the powers of one department, to encroach upon another. The spirit of encroachment tends to consolidate the powers of all departments in one, and thus to create, whatever the form of government, a real despotism. A just estimate of that love of power and proneness to abuse it which predominate in the human heart, is sufficient to satisfy us of the truth of this position.
Most ominous is the deathly silence of the Republican Party. The Republican Party may be written off as an enemy of the Constitution. Let us put an end to the charade, and call a spade a spade. I warn the American people that under the excuse of tragedy of September 11th, our rights and our liberties are all but obliterated. The New World Order is at hand. Orwell's 1984 is a living reality in Washington D.C, while the so called Republican Party busies itself with legislation of little importance and allows the Constitution to be bludgeoned to death. There is not even any pretence anymore.
It drives me nuts when liberals use the Constitution to support an arguement...over the years they have redefined enough words that the Constitution no longer mean "provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare", but "provide for the general welfare, promote the common defense". And then the South goes and loses the war which effectively repealed the 10th Amendment...
It's amazing, isn't it...if this so-called "Patriot Act" was proposed by Democrats, and AG Reno, the Republicrats would be more discerning. But since it was enacted by a Republican administration, it gets a free pass. Go figure.
A bit more than a smidgen and within a hair of a mite.
Except when it's a toad.
Well that and with the passage of the illegal 14th Amendment(and it is illegal in word and in the way it was passed) but we're all happier now right? Right?
Shop and spend, shop and spend, how the men who fought for the 13 states original independence would be so proud of what we've become < /sarcasm>
So you think he'll be President forever? And there will never be another 'Clinton'?
And was conceived and written by the Clinton administration and not one congresscritter read it before signing on to it.
Let's take a look at that pamphlet, shall we?
Here is a little of what can be found on the website Thirty gave a link to:
This is not a joke or hoax my friend. This is for real and is what is here and now in our Country. Are you considered a terrorist by your own Country?
Public Servants Going After "Constitutional Terrorists"? by Angel

KeepAndBearArms.com --
The Phoenix Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office (Greater Phoenix, Arizona), and the Maricopa County Attorney are handing out flyers asking the recipients to help them fight domestic terrorism.
I received one of these flyers this past weekend at the Arizona "Freedom in the 21st Century" gathering. One member of the Sheriff's Posse Reserve in attendance said he'd seen the flyer before and that it is legitimate.
[I will be getting verification before this report goes live on our site, including recording phone calls to these people.]
Called the Joint Terrorism Task Force, the program was created, presumably, to help preserve the American way of life, right? In part, probably. However, it also looks like it's a disinformation campaign to paint least a few groups of Real Americans as domestic terrorists.
Among other things, the dynamic trio is asking people:
"If you encounter any of the following, Call the Joint Terrorism Task Force":
"defenders of the US Constitution against federal government and the UN" [That describes many civil liberties groups and most gun rights and American Sovereignty groups in existence -- and, by extension, their members.]
"Groups of individuals engaging in para-military training" [Such as, perhaps, shooting your semi-automatic "assault weapon" with some friends out in the desert?"]
Also being sought are "Common Law Movement Proponents" who "Request authority for a stop" [That's illegal now?]
"Make numerous references to the US Constitution" [That's illegal now?]
"Attempt to 'police the police'" [That's illegal now?]
And let's not forget the other potential "domestic terrorists" being sought. We really need to watch out for these people:
"Lone Individuals" [Do you meet that description?]
"Rebels" [Know any gun rights activist who doesn't have at least a touch of rebel pumping through the old bloodstream?]
Be sure and notice the following two things on the flyer, as well:
1) There is NOT ONE MENTION of "Islamic Fundamentalists" anywhere.
2) Defenders of the US Constitution and the common law from which it grew are being classified on the same level as the bottom-feeding Skinheads, Nazis and the KKK.
"I just spoke to Terry Chapman, whose name is on the flyer, of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Dept.
He said that the Sheriff's office demanded that the FBI stop circulating the flyer as long as the Sheriff's Dept was associated with it. He believes that they have stopped circulating it. I said they need to issue an apology and a retraction.
I told him that there is no need to profile people into categories. If they commit a crime, they are a criminal. No other profile needs to exist.
He said he was disgusted by the flyer.
He said one of his own Lieutenants called him and said, "Terry, I guess I am on the list of Domestic Terrorists since I believe in the US Constitution."
He said the Sheriff's office has been inundated with calls about this flyer.
He asked me if I received the flyer in the mail or if it was on the Internet. When I responded with the latter, he said, "aww,God."
I told him it would probably be circulating for a long time. He knew.
Call me a terrorist, I love to quote the Constitution. ; )
; )
Fair enough John, I respect your opinion. Militarily speaking, I too am pleased with the methods and procedures that have been implemented and carried out. Don't think for a minute that I didn't thirst for the blood of those involved and supporting the attacks. Good grief, I had trouble sleeping, knowing that such a horrific thing had happened on the soil of my homeland. It still sickens me to this day. To think that a foriegn enemy could carry that out against "the home team," if you will, is maddening. A sucker punch, which each and every real American reeled from.
and, while some of the Patriot Act items would concern me say if a Clinton was President and a Reno was AJ,under W I'm not concerned in the least.
Here is where our opinions part company John. Now we're speaking domestically. Just as I am sickened by the attack perpetrated by the terrorists, I too am sickened by the attacks on, and the general lack of concern for the Constitution, as a result of what the administration feels must be done now. The popular argument seems to be that "we must give up freedoms afforded by the Constitution to be able to effectively deal with the problem." Sorry, I'm not buying that John. An attack on America is just that, be it in the form of terrorists trying to kill us, or those in power dismantling the very core of what this country is all about. That "our guys" are the ones doing it makes not one bit of difference. And yes, they're "my guys" too John. I helped put 'em there, just as I imagine you did. They may be the good guys in some eyes, and I'm not neccessarily saying that they're the bad guys either. What I am saying is that I'm watching them like a hawk with wide open eyes, and I see the good and the bad. The good I give praise for. The bad I raise a cry about.
Can you predict the future John? Are you willing to bet that a future administration will absolutely not walk through the door to tyranny, a door left wide open by the "Patriot Act?" Are you willing to bet that the current administration won't keep taking steps, a few at a time, towards that door, or even creating a few new doors? I'm not willing to take that risk John. I'm not willing to set idly by while the document that is the law of this land is ignored and forgotten. One of the prices of freedom is vigilance. Is it alright with you John that by my speaking out with my concerns and criticisms of the governments policies and methods, that I legally could be assumed to be a terrorist? Did you ever raise questions about, or voice criticism of the Clinton administration John? Did you feel like a terrorist when you did? What will you do in the future if "the other guy" gets elected John? Will you speak out as you always have, or will you fear the conseqences of your "terroristic acts?" Does it not bother you that no one knew what was contained in the "Patriot Act," yet it was passed in a heartbeat.?
The question still applies to everyone. Do you want to be safe, or do you want to be free?
Either you agree with everything we say or YOU are a terrorist!
