Judge orders shcool to allow prayer

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- A federal judge has ordered school officials to let a kindergartner say grace out loud before eating lunch.

Kayla Broadus, 5, had been stopped from praying with friends on Jan. 15 at her elementary school in Wilton, 36 miles north of Albany.

But U.S. District Judge David Hurd issued a temporary restraining order on Tuesday, saying the school may not interfere with the girl's praying. He set a hearing for Feb. 15.

I'm glad that her parents fought this but there is no way I'd keep my child in such a Godless place.

And the Talibatheists take a hit.

I'm an atheist and I strongly agree with this judge's ruling. In fact, I've been watching this case because closely because I care deeply about free exercise of religion.

Amendment I: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

Oh yeah, the Taliban had nothing to do with atheists, aside from persecuting them. In case it escaped you, the Taliban was a theocracy.

No, she can't use a bull-horn, at least not if doing so would make her be heard in classrooms down the hall or cause a riot. Previous court rulings have held that school children's First Amendment rights may be abridged only in minimal ways to prevent harm to the compelling state interest in universal education.

Just be glad and say a prayer of thanksgiving that sensible constititutional interpretation prevailed in this one.

In case it escaped you, there is a movement attempting to remove any expression of faith from any aspect of American life. These people conduct themselves as if they were the enforcers of some theocracy, even if they claim elsewise. Hence the Talibatheists!

No, only those children not saying grace may use a bullhorn.
