Look, you need to realize something right now, you and you alone are responsible for your own well being. The Feds can't always help you, the local LEO's can't always be there to help you. Furthermore, the Supreme Court has ruled that LE is under NO obligation whatsoever to ensure or guarantee your protection. If you call the Police because someone is kicking in your door and the cops don't arrive in time to save you from the knife weilding rapist, it's just too bad for you and your survivors. Thay can't sue the PD because there wasn't enough cops to go around or the cars were poorly maintained or the 911 system gave them a different address. Laws & legislation are nothing but words on paper, they can't defend you against a flying rubber band. You need to realize that right now, then you need to seek out the training, the tools, & the planning to defend & protect yourself and loved ones. This isn't meant to be harsh, it's the plain fact that reality is harsh. You and only you can make a difference in your well being. Remember who it is that you survive for!

Also, the happy part is that I live here 8>)!! The only place else I'd hang out in is Paris except that it gets a little too cold and rainy for a few months out of the year. We've got more granola (fruits, nuts and flakes) in this city than a health food supermarket and I like it that way. Our board of supervisors usually looks like another town's social services queue, but we get along just fine. The explosions are more likely to be in anticipation of Chinese New Year's than anything political.

Heartening to know that there appears to be a small group of SF Freepers.

Picture yourself in a sunny field, next to a gently babbling stream. The sun is shining. No cares in the world. Take a deep breath. You are becoming relaxed. All your cares and worries are floating away. Breaaaaathhhe.... Breeeaaatthhheee..... Ahhhhhh...
Remember grlfrnd that while it is important and justifiable to be concerned, there are many more things associated with daily living that still pose a greater risk to you.

Suspicious Package in SF Contained Fake Bomb (KCBS) A suspicious package found at San Franciscos Federal Building this morning turned out to contain, not an explosive device, but a device made to look like a bomb. KCBS reporter George Harris on the scene says authorities do not know who perpetrated the hoax. Captain Alex Fagan said the sender did intend for it to look like an explosive device. The question was, was it made to appear to be a device? It appeared to be a device when you looked at the x-ray, so my assumption is that they knew what they were doing when they sent it," he said. The bomb squad has been investigating the device since 9:30 this morning, when it was first discovered on a loading dock. During the incident, people inside the building sheltered in place, and no one from the outside was allowed to enter. Harris said all packages going into the federal building are screened, and this one came up positive for possible explosives. Thousands of people work in the Federal building. Police do not have suspect in custody, but they are investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the San Francisco police department. (12:15pm, gcb)

Furthermore, Hamilton AFB in Novato was closed, making the area closest to the Bay more vulnerable. Isn't there a Naval Air Station near the Bay?
Hamilton was closed as an AFB in 1976; the Army used it as an airfield and the Navy for housing until the mid '90s. It is now closed.
The NAS is Alameda, on an island that might as well be in Oakland. It was closed in April of '97.

Uhhh, I remember your post, and I didn't think you were being paranoid. But when you said you were working under the bridge, I took that LITERALLY and thought you were working ON the bridge. I apologize. I am so embarassed......:)

Heartening to know that there appears to be a small group of SF Freepers.Another one right here! I was the one who posted the article about yesterday's explosion at the Hall of Justice. I was annoyed by many comments to the effect that SF deserves it because of all the Lefties. We should be concerned about attacks on Americans--period. All of these recent incidents are strange, but so far, no one's been hurt. All you can do is stay alert and keep up with the news or move to the boonies as another Freeper suggested. Hmmm...

I'd go with left-wing extremists at this point. Me too. Left wing socialist liberals plant a bomb that doesn't go off and then call for more gun control.

Meanwhile, the Feds were out in force today raiding a medical marijuana club in Frisco. Priorities, I guess.
