Another Euro socialist heard from. This little weasel has made a career out of attacking the US and periodically spews forth a book about it.

Did anyone see "Son of the Beach" last night. Notch's "Hi teens" bit was priceless.

Thanks, France, for the advice. We'll get back to you on that.
To: RippleFire
What's the problem? Oh yea, the French. In the dictionary under the word "surrender" it says "see France". Same thing for "spineless", "ungrateful", "stupid", "slovenly"....

Too simplistic, huh. Maybe we should do something complicated....like building a Maginot line....morons.

Bah! Why sweat anything a knavish frenchman has to say? We know how cowardly they are. They'll never do anything but snipe and hide...

Attn: France!
There's a reason why you haven't received an invitation to the White House, but the King of Jordan has.
Jordan is a better ally than you. Chew on that for awhile.

Perhaps we should not have had such a "simplistic approach" in WWII. After all, there are certain excellent armchair quarterbac arguments to the effect that we should have just let Europe fall to the Nazis.
Of course, the concentration camps would have continued to operate. England would have has some Nazi puppet king, probably. Big business would have ended up adjusting to the new order and would have done just fine. Except for one little thing. It is quite possible that the Communist Evil would have been kept at bay by the National Socialist Evil. One little problem with all this worldy view, though.
Evil would have had a great Victory. To stand there and tolerate evil to flourish because it might all turn out better for us in the long run if we do nothing, is wrong. The worldly Frenchamn doesn't give a damn about evil, though. As long as gets his 35-hour work week, excellent vactaion benefits, and at least two good French meals each day, he couldn't care less about right and wrong. Heck it sounds pretty attractive me right now (when compared to dying on a Becah in Normandy), but it is wrong.

Hey I'm getting tired of all this French bashing. Minister Hubert Vedrine is entitled to his opinion...they are a much more open and free society...after we liberated their sorry @sses!
To: RippleFire
You have to cut the French some slack. They think they still matter in what goes on in the world.

Enron's approach to business is complex, the Bush administration's approach to issues is simple. Which do you trust?

Well, Minister Vedrine, your country did such a good job stopping the Nazis that I guess we should take your advice. Go choke on French fries.
To: RippleFire
Gee...I wonder what the French would recommend as an approach with conffronting our enemies?
In all seriousness, it would be a mistake for W to take any advice from teh eurosocialists. Their crappy little economies are somewhat dependant on commerce w/ tyrannical regimes (Iran, Iraq, etc.). Of course they are going to say "don't attack Iraq". They will say this with the full knowledge that Iraq is a hostile enemy of the US. To hell with the eurotrash/socialist governments.
To: RippleFire
Mr Vedrine cited the Middle East as an example, saying the EU rejected Washington's unconditional support of what he called Israel's policy of pure repression. I rather doubt that this is just "an example."
His "pure repression" comment says it all: he's blaming the whole mess on Israel -- which is right in line Europe's generally anti-Israel stance.
In reality, U.S.-Israel relations are exactly what got Mr. Vedrine's panties in a twist.
