Brit Hume just had a report on "Special Report" about Gray Davis (California governor) taking over $119,000 from Enron, more than anyone in Congress!
He showed a clip of Dim-bulb getting grilled by reporters on the State Capitol steps, and he was losing his temper as he stated that he has stopped taking contributions from energy companies since he became governor. He refuses to return the money.

Lay urged Davis to require that consumers pay the record wholesale prices being charged for power in late 2000 and last year, Davis said.Lay also advocated that private companies be allowed to take control of the state's massive electrical power grid, and that the state further deregulate the electric system, the governor said.
Davis: "I did ask him [Lay] for advice on a number of things, and he generally gave me advice that I did not take. In fact, I can't remember any advice I took."
And if Governor Davis had only had the sense to take Lay's advice, Californians would be so much better off today.
One wonders why he's bragging about it...

I'm sure you will, and that's much appreciated. Take care.

Some of the other FReepers did it by hitting some Common Cause site or report.

This is too funny.
Who would have predicited that Gray Davis's prison name would be "Spike"?
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach;*calpowergate
This article should be a nice addition to the calpowergate files, if somebody didn't tag it already.

LOL! I'm sure the demonRats in Congress will want to jump on this and start a witchhunt against Gray Davis and the corrupt democrat party in California! /sarcasm

Why is it illegal for Traficant to take money for favors when damn near ever other politico is taking money for ? something?
Is there any MOC who has not taken money from somewhere? I mean they make $150K and don't have to pay for anything - haircuts are free, airfare is free, parking is free, lunch in the Capital Mess Hall is free, no income tax - no state income tax, BJ's are free the staff is paid out of the budget - and they still take graft?

Ex Gov. Gray (Spike) Davis...say hi to Bubba when you get to prison
Now that would make for a good Freep sign in the coming election campaign. I do like your sense of humor!

Thanks for the ping, Ernest, and this is for your enjoyment, Miss Marple.
What a surprise, that it took Fox News and Brent Hume to break this story.

Dim bulb stealing pension money from good working people of America. What a joke the Dems are.
