Yes. I lived thru that time, and I can tell you the stories of women, medical problems, vote fraud, etc., were all discussed, but in whispered tones because "the people" didn't want to hear about them. JFK was the second President ( FDR naturally being the first ) who was "charisma over substance." And the press, and the media, just fell in love with it. clinton was the natural culmination of this trend.
