I was struck by her demeanor as well. Especially by her continuous emphasis on "dialogue."

But then I heard the WSJ letter which told the terrorists that Danny could be their conduit for dialogue. They emphasized his role as a storyteller a great deal. Maybe the WSJ instructed her in what to say. Maybe they think that if they sell this whole "tell your side of the story" angle to the terrorists—they can get Daniel out.
