Evidently, that is exactly what Pearl thought he was going to do. He knew where he was going and with whom he was going to meet. He had an appointment with his kidnapper to discuss the other side of the Pakistani story.

Yep. So why the WSJ is continuing this line of thinking is beyond me.

But I guess—from their point of view—it is Pearl's only hope. After not getting ANY of their demands, perhaps "telling their story" will become more important to the Pakistanis. Unlikely, but the WSJ is keeping that door open.
