Good question and good suggestion. Think you will get many conservatives to join in? Don't hold your breath waiting.
Another suggestion would be to get all conservative voters to vote against any candidate who doesn't advocate the dissolution of government schools. And then recall them if they don't deliver. Think that will fly either?
No it won't because mind-numbing apathy is now the order of the day. Most Americans (conservatives among them) care more about what movie is coming out this weekend than about their children's future. Good-bye sweet Republic...please just wait until I die before you roll over!
Absolutely not. 5 years ago, I joined The Alliance for Separation of School & State. I expected the concept to be a fairly easy sell. It isn't. The emotional attachment most have to public education is astounding. The School Choice movement is an important part of the GOP but it is not the mass movement I expected it to be by now.
The frustrating part is we are close. All we need is 20% or so of kids out of government schools and the system will begin to crumble by itself as every parent will know someone whose kids are getting a better education and what the same for their kids.
