I just heard on Israeli radio that American troops from the 6th fleet just boarded two SYRIAN ships suspects of carrying arms! Haven't seen any confirmation on the net yet. Anyone hear anything about this?

I'm not finding this anywhere on the net and no repeat of it on the news update at 15:30 (israel time), but I absolutely heard it said at 15:00.
"US troops from 6th fleet board 2 Syrian vessels. Syria enraged, calls it piracy..."
Either it was an inaccurate report and thus not repeated again, its been quieted, or hasn't broken yet. I guess we'll know one way or another in the next half hour or so.

I do not believe this is an accident.
His speech last night was tough. This immediate action following that speech seems to be a message to terrorist states like Syria. We are not afraid of Syria. We can decimate their infra-structure and leave them to the wolves if they don't turn this around.
BTW, the comment below that Bush dances to Sharon's tune is terribly near-sighted.
Terrorists murdered around 3 thousand of our citizens. We don't NEED Sharon for a reason to attack terrorists. And we SHOULD attack them and kill them whereever we find them. And we should make public any links with any states that come to light. And then we should strike that state.

What would you have the US do? Maybe help the Syrians offload weapons at a pier in Gaza?

Has anyone seen anything about this?
I find it very unusual that official radio would report this and then suddenly stop mentioning it.
I'm looking at all the usual sites, but i've come up empty.

I just checked the JPost, Ap, Reuters--the usual sources, too. It may be that somebody didn't want the story out just yet. I'll keep checking during the day & post the story when I find it.
