St Petersburg police say somebody threw something that went bang, at a cop-car at 18th avenue and 28th street south last night, the second such case this week. The police union says in some areas the outlaws are in control.

This is yet another example of a non-politically correct story getting buried. Twice in the past few days, the criminal element in south St. Pete has thrown bombs at police. Five bicycle cops had to go to the hospital with minor injuries after a drug arrest resulted in an angry mob scene, which culminated with a bomb being thrown into the midst of the officers.
It's volitile and it's ugly, and the political leadership in St. Petersburg is caving to the outlaws. The black "leadership" even got the police chief fired for describing a suspect who wrapped himself around the steering wheel of a car as an "orangutang". It's anarchy, folks. This should be on the front page of every paper, but it's not because it's not PC to report it.
Get the word out, FReepers!

Used to live in Pinellas County (not St. Pete), but it's big news here in the Bay Area (I'm now north of Tampa in a lovely rural area.)

I agree, but I think it was meant to describe the behavior, not the person (I think the quote was "he was acting like an orangutang). I don't think the guy should have lost his job over it. He immediately apologized and admitted it was a poor choice of words. I think the real issue is that he was planning to actually enforce the laws down there and therefore they were looking for an excuse to get rid of him.

Pinellas County went to the Goron so it's not all good.

Sounds like terrorism to me. Our new Homeland security should arrest and prosecute the barbarians on federal charges and send them to Guantanamo for R&R.

Oh please, blame the teachers - it couldn't be the steady decay of values in society - it must be those putting ideas in to our "impressionable" youth - let me guess, television violence is behind our problems too isn't it?

Ok, and that proves exactly what?
To: Complacent Sheeple
Well, if anything that youth are indeed "impressionable", contrary to what you suggest with your cynicism.

Why? Because some people speculate his reasons to be from "liberal schooling"?
To: Complacent Sheeple
No, because this young man obviously was influenced by Osama bin Ladin and the events of 9/11.

Oh please, gimme a break. Who wasn't "influenced" by that? Look at all the wanna be Patriots since then. I wouldn't doubt you're one of them. Were they not "influenced" by it also?
To: Complacent Sheeple
They were influenced by it, but did they go and fly an airplane into a building? No, they went out and bought a flag, or a shirt with the Statue of Liberty on it.
