Now, if someone could just unshred Hillary's files...

Maybe Anderson's electronic files were found on a computer in the trunk of a car damaged by a tornado.

And another thing. I want to know the wherabouts of tourist guy when the records were erased! :)

I don't see how this will help Andersen. Andersen execs co-conspired with ENRON execs; I offer them all my best wishes as prison brides.

I don't know its current status, but Andersen used to be #1. If that is still true, and remains true, so much the worse for the accounting biz.

HOW??? Until the FACTS are in, do you actually believe that they will lash back with statements they can't support either?

Good question.

I'm just damn tired of seeing / listening to the Democratrats have free rein with the media in spinning the crap out of anything aginst the Republicans - and the Republicans make no attempt to counter the spin!

How many times have you seen this happen?

The Republican party needs a few "hired guns". Some will say that this is stooping to the level of the Democrats.

I say it's war - please don't ignore it and make the mistake in thinking that the sheeple will figure out who is telling the biggest lie.

One really should bring a gun to a gun fight - my party seems incapable of understanding this concept - sorry to say!

Expect Hillary to show up any time now. . .

They probably found the files in Hillary's pantsuit...

Along side the Vast West Wing Arse.

And the [Once] white house's furnishings!

So Mr. Roger Hughes what happened over at Pinnacle Towers, Sarasota, Florida where a variation of the same alleged scheme as Enron was being run by PwC.

Rodger Hughes, overall head of audit at PwC, said: “The worst thing a partner can do is sign a duff audit opinion. There is no greater crime.”

Someone was smart enough to keep some "security", eh?

Actually data backup is something 'standard' with more large corporations and their large customer bases. It's something there, but apparently those charged with destorying the documents forgot about them. Back-ups are usually done onto a computer medium and sent off site for storage (more often then not a 3rd party company). Those old salt mines are nice storage places.

While recovering data in this fashion is a pain, and everyone hates to do it (can take days to weeks), it can be done. Sounds like that's what happened here. The folks who tried to destroy the files were in one part of the company. But once that happened, the data or security folks knew about the backup policy and just started the procedure to recover.

Yeppers on the backup data. I just find it amusing that they came out at first... throwing their hands up saying, "Oh... all the documents were destroyed!" (like they didn't KNOW they had backup data) All of a sudden these files just "happen" to be found. Maybe some internal squabbling as to who was supposed to cover who and what.. then someone felt threatened? I guess we'll see, as the saga unfolds.

Well, I'm assuming contact via law enforcement agencies must have had something to do with that. If they're subpoena'd, and can't answer, then they'd better have a good explanation. Having worked ones from the FBI, they pretty much say "Give us what you have in regards to /insert subject/ by this day /insert date/ or provide an explanation as to why you can not".

I think you're reading too much into if by thinking it was some sort of "security" meausere someone had to cover their own backside. Certainly possible, but knowing how corporations work with data, I'd lean towards standard data recovery was the motivation.

I heard Kristol say something similar to that on Hardball. He admitted that he is a McCain fan. I know Rush has been eluding to some of these things about McCain running in 2004. Kristol and his minions, like Tucker Carlson and others have been sitting low, but are beginning to surface. I still think that McCain will run in 2004 as an Independent. In fact I think he is planning to switch parties and is making a deal with Daschle to have chairmanship of his favoritee committee, The Commerce Committee.

Kristol does not like the Bushes. Bush 41 did not keep him on after Regean left office. They know that he is not loyal and would not have him around. McCain is doing every thing he can to make life for Bush as difficult as he can. I am still outraged that McCain raised those stupid star wars arms on the battleship to our brave military and said "Next Bagdad". He is so full of himself. Has anyone noticed that whenever Congress is on recess, the only people that McCaiin hangs with are democrats. I guess he will be having the democratic leadership out for an Arizona bar-b-que soon. I am sure that Kristol would be there. Kristol also said that he was given a draft of the " military speech" that Liberman was going to give, at least three days before Liberman was to give it. He told Mathews that it would be a powerful speech and very presidential. By the way c-span repeated that speech six times over last weekend. I did not see any repeats of Bush's stump stops in his three state hops.

I don't know how Fred Barnes can stand to work with Kristol at the weekly standard. Barnes is ultra conservative and he must know what Kristol is up to. Look for Kristol to head up McCain's effort to run for President, in 2004. They will have to start very soon. My guess is it is already happening. These leaks to Hardball are no mistake. They are planned and targeted to take Bush out or make the remainder of his four years very difficult.
