LOS ANGELES (AP) – Former Symbionese Liberation Army fugitive Sara Jane Olson was sentenced today to 20 years to life in prison for conspiring to blow up police cars in 1975.
Following tearful statements from family and friends, Olson said she was "truly sorry" for causing anyone any pain. But she denied trying to murder officers by planting bombs under the two Los Angeles police cars to avenge the deaths of six SLA members during a shootout with authorities in 1974. The bombs didn't explode.
Superior Court Judge Larry Fidler sentenced Olson to two consecutive terms of 10 years to life.
This is but another act in a very, very, very, very loooooooooonnnnnnnnnnng play.

Just waint & see some lib attorney will petition and a lib judge grant the 27 years she's been on the run to be applied to her sentence because the stress was punishment enough. Secondly, her time on the run exceeds her 20 year sentence by 7 years therefore she is entitled to compensation for the 7 years of pain and suffering ;-)
As for the 2.5 figure, I admit to being fuzzy, hence the marks around -may-. I am not quite clear on the recalculation thing, I've run across no explanation of this. But be aware, it exists. I am quite suspicious of all this, she has many, many friends here in the DFL, the Minnestoa version of the Democrats. She put on live plays before the state legislature, for crying out loud.
the more I think of her and her behavior I am beginning to think that she suffers from hyperactivity/mania because her behavior certainly sounds like it....always wants to do "more" for people...which is okay if its your church or your family, I guess, but sadly for her she wanted to do "more" for evil idiots....on top of that, she is a bitter, hateful person no matter how many people think she is such a saint...somtimes these types use community work to cover up their hateful personalities.
not that that changes anything...she deserves time....
maybe if she had gone to the authorities years ago, maybe just if she surrendered peacefully and plead her case and perhaps helped the gov't to prosecute those that were part of the SLA , those that killed Myrna Opsal...perhaps she would be home today...

Now, they should go after her husband who was sheltering a known fugitive from justice. They met in Africa. He had to know.
