I thought bank robbery was a Federal offense. Olsen has a lot to gain by copping a plea and testifying against her old gang. Or the four of them could blame each other as the shooter. It has been done before.
Have a great one!
I've been observing with considerable sadistic glee, the "Torment" of these 60's radicals who've gotten caught after squirreling themselves comfortably away in society, and are now whining like a bad alternator bearing over how "Unfair" it is.
Sarah Jane, little girl, I have a quote I'd like to offer you in your time of trial and tribulation: "One must never TOY with insurrection".
Three guesses who said that, Sarah? Oh, never mind. You obviously don't know, or you wouldn't have done what you did, Sarah.
So... it was good old Vladimir Illyich - LENIN - who said that, Sarah.
Methinks maybe you and the rest of your 60's "Idealists" who now find themselves belatedly ensconced in the none-too-comfortable suites of the Concrete Hotel, should have READ what your lord and mentor wrote, a little more carefully, perhaps?

I finished ruining my mind with college in 1989, so I can't say...
Does Rosie O'ChickenBucket live in Kaliforniastan?
While I agree with your sentiments, Opsahl's son is leading the battle to prosecute these arrogant Sixties terrorists. It's true she didn't have a chance to enjoy her grandchildren even though Soliah probably will.
This whole L.A. thing stinks, starting with Judge Larry Fidler, who knew very well the law had been changed and that his 20-year sentence would in all likelihood be changed.
"Superior Court Judge Larry Fidler pointed out there has been a change in the law since the time of the charges in Los Angeles, and the Board of Prison Terms will recalculate Olson's sentence after she is in prison," says an AP story under Linda Deutsch's by-line in my Ventura Star "news"paper today. "She could have fixed [sic] as little as five years," Fidler said. I can't find anything that explains the "change in the law," and sure don't recall reading anything about it.
We can only hope the Sacramento jury will do what needs to be done in regard to the
I do agree with you that she needs to be taken to task in Sacramento. I hope that happens.
As for her children, the point I attempted to make was that she didn't get to spend 25 more years enjoying the types of things that Sarah Jane did. If I didn't make that clear, I screwed up.
Thanks for the comments.
I just re-read the newspaper article and maybe I've come down too hard on Judge Fidler. He may have given her the stiffest sentence possible under the options available to him: two consecutive, not concurrent, 10-year terms. Maybe someone better versed in the applicable law can answer the question.
