I tried this...seems to work - especially the x-10 camera ad. The best part is a link to the Yahoo page to opt out of advertisements (on Yahoo only)

This is COOL! No clock-hogging program to run in the background, just a click to each site and BAM! the pop-ups are gone. Thanks.

Looks like you have to repeat it once a month for the X-10 camera. (If you buy the camera, does it turn off forever? It may be worth it)

It seems every browser that opens has a pop ad most of the time. This drives me crazy.
I also had little pop-ups called Save Now. They would come out of nowhere, I noticed the other day that there was a program running this thing installed on my machine.

I'll be able to turn off the pop-up killer and regain 5% system resources.
I'm going to bump this one throughout the day.

How did you find the 'save now' program, and what is it called?

Well...I just tried the NYPost web site...the X-10 pop-up is gone, but I still had the casino ad.

I'm on a dial-up and those silly ads slow things down quite a bit.

Yeah, I am too. Although I'm switching to a cable modem in a few weeks.

I've bookmarked the thread though so when they start creeping back I can just click the links.

Try Panicware's "Popup-Stopper". There is a free version and a pay "pro" version.

Try the Opera browser. It has an option to stop pop up windows. Plus its not made by MS.
