The California College Republicans proudly endorse Republican Candidate, Bill Simon, for Governor of the great Golden State. College Republican State Chairman, Michael Sannella was enthusiastic about the endorsement. "Bill Simon is primed to be the next conservative leader in the state of California." Not since Ronald Reagan has the party's youth been this excited to help elect a statewide candidate to office," said Sannella. "The College Republicans believe strongly in electing a governor who is true to the Republican values that we work so diligently to preserve on California campuses; Bill Simon is that Republican leader" Sannella concluded.
The College Republicans is the nation's largest, and oldest, Republican student organization. Founded more than 100 years ago, College Republicans have played a vital role in recruiting, educating, and involving thousands of students each year in the Republican Party.

This is really a big win for the supposed "underdog" and the only true conservative running here. He can add this to the California Republican Assembly, the California ProLife Council, and Rudolph Guliani, who have also all endorsed him.

There is no way that the Democrat In All But Label (DIABL) Riordan will win this nomination.
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla
Look at this
Hopefully he won't. People are starting to wake up to what Riordan stands for (see above). Also, I like the DIABL. Think we can figure out an "o" for the end?

Also, I like the DIABL. Think we can figure out an "o" for the end?First, I worked out this name with ElkGroveDan, who came up with this version. Maybe DIABLA, for Democrat In All But LAbel, will be close enough?
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla
With acronyms people often insert a vowel where there is no corresponding initial. Which was my original proposal. However Since DIABLO is such a great idea (thanks to Dan and LCS) let's all bang our head stogether and think of an O. Democrat In All But Label Outsider perhaps
To: ElkGroveDan
Democrat In All But Label OutsiderI don't think that that scans too well, I'm afraid. I can just see us marching around in devil outfits, like Dr. Raoul, chanting 'Democrat In All But Label Outsider, Democrat In All But Label Outsider'. I don't think so!
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla
Well then lets just chant "DIABLo" we don't have to tell them what the small o stands for.

Well deserved endorsement - bump! Go Simon!

Don't forget that the California Organization of Police and Sheriffs also endorsed Bill Simon.
My only gripe is that COPS would probably be the first ones to oppose a CCW shall-issue law if it ever was proposed.

Thanks for the heads up on that. I'm helping with his campaign here in the East Bay, and am really frustrated that I can't produce an official endorsement list. If you or anyone else knows of any other endorsements, could you please let me know? Thanks

Thanks for putting this on the Calgov2002 list!
Go Simon!
