My experience has been that immigrants (especially Asian) have more appreciation and respect for our Consitutuon than your average Liberal.

My dogs have more admiration and respect for the Constitution than your average Liberal.

I don't agree that Euro-Americans are better Americans, but I do think that illegal immigration is not the right way to begin a new life as a law-respecting upright citizen. When immigrants insist on America adapting to them, rather than becoming Americanized, and we agree to do so (bilingual education and government offices) we are in trouble.

Hey sweet, I'm not so sure its a matter of not caring more like unaware. Too busy working, paying taxes and trying to save enough to put their kids through colelge. There is something definately wrong when American families and college kids have to struggle to pay for the same education that is available to aliens.

I think when you hear two or three traffic horror stories on the news every night, and you know there are dozens more each day that don't make the news, it's not so rare.

You are right. I see a disturbing new acceptance of racist speech in America now on all sides, much of it blossoming since the attacks on September 11 which brought out anti-Arab bigotry. People find it more acceptable to criticize the Arab race than to denounce the hateful, demonic, backwards, oppressive, violence of Islam. It's Islam that has declared jihad on the West (Christian and Jewish peoples) not the race, as we'll see when we finally look closely at Africa and the Philippines and in our own prisons.
