Ban on the Display of Aborted Fetus Signs (Need help in Wisconsin, please FREEP this poll)

MONROE, Wis. -- An abortion opponent who publicizes his protests with large scale pictures of aborted fetuses said he's ready to continue his fight against Monroe if the city adopts another sign ordinance.
The Common Council will hold a public hearing tonight on a second try at a sign ordinance.
The first one it adopted was declared unconstitutional after Pastor Ralph Ovadal (pictured last summer at a Mazomanie nude beach protest) and Christ the King Church challenged it.
The previous ordinance restricted the signs to 3 square feet, except for business signs.
Ovadal and his followers had taken their large signs to the city's business square where Planned Parenthood has an office.
City officials agreed to repeal the first ordinance and dismiss citations against Ovadal and his group to settle the federal lawsuit.
Ovadal says the new sign proposal is simply the old one dusted off.
Ovadal and other church members were cited earlier last year for placing literature on parked cars in Monroe that was critical of Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin and for displaying signs in a grassy area along side Highway 69 in Monroe.

Those of us near the People's Republic of Madison (250,000 people surrounded by reality) need some help with this poll. Abortion is the subject of the dispute, but the issue also reveals the liberal's opposition to free political speech. The poll is currently running 77% AGAINST permitting the protest of abortion using pictures of aborted fetuses.

What are abortoinists afraid or ashamed of? Heck, it's how they make a killing (um, no pun intended). Certainly seems this guy is only giving them free advertising.

Your help with this small poll would be greatly appreciated.

I think the use of photos of aborted fetuses is offensive and probably counter-productive. Nobody wants to see them, and most wish the people who put them up would go away forever.

To the Left, the First Amendment only protects THEIR speech. As is the case for all Liberals (and other Fascists), they don't have to obey the rules when they don't want to ...

Couldn't agree with you more. The tactic is revolting, and harms the pro-life agenda by making it seem composed of a bunch of kooks and fans of the grotesque. There are much better ways of getting a point across than by sickening innocent bystanders who have a right to walk the streets without fear they're going to be assaulted by poster-sized aborted fetuses.

Ovadal and other church members were cited earlier last year for placing literature on parked cars in Monroe that was critical of Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin and for displaying signs in a grassy area along side Highway 69 in Monroe. And of course those same council members will also ban election signs and phamplets in the same places. Yea, Right.

Doesn't Peta use pictures of destroyed animals to make it's case??
Guess it's O.K. when the life of a chicken is on the line.

New born babies are much more attractive than aborted fetuses. Pity there aren't more of them.

Ovadal and his followers had taken their large signs to the city's business square where Planned Parenthood has an office. Does anyone have any pics so we can see just how big the signs are that they are talking about?

They're likely not getting many converts with that tactic, either.

Nobody wants to see them, and most wish the people who put them up would go away forever. Well, sometimes the truth or reality is unpleasant. Life was meant to be lived and experienced and sometimes you have to put up with unpleasant thoughts. I've seen these exact signs, Although it makes me grimice, it reminds me abortion is taking a live human, not some cancer or dead cells.
Pictures of Holocaust dead are horrid, but seeing them makes us remember to not let it happen again.
If it weren't for pictures of famine in Africa or elsewhere, Americans wouldn't probably write a check to the relief funds.
Seeing those airplanes hit the World Trade Center towers was not pleasant, but it did stiffen our resolve to fight terrorism.

Doesn't Peta use pictures of destroyed animals to make it's case??No. They use scantily-clad women.
They at least understand marketing, while some of the pro-life movement seem to think that grossing people out attracts them.
Go figure.

The signs I've seen them use are similar to the Right-to-Life "hand on a dime" picture (the hand of an aborted 6 week fetus on a dime for scale).
To: JennysCool
Your probably right.
Hopefully someone will be born that can lead people to stop this madness,or maybe not.
