The body of an Israeli man has been found in a bullet-riddled car in the West Bank.
Palestinian security officials say the body was found in Beit Sahour.
Initial reports say the man, who also carried a foreign passport, had been kidnapped by gunmen.
Earlier, the two largest Palestinian militant factions said they will stick to a truce with Israel despite their accusations that Israel assassinated a West Bank militia leader.
Supporters of Raed Karmi took revenge just hours after his death killing an Israeli soldier and wounding an officer who had left their armoured personnel carrier to question two Palestinians at a checkpoint.
Israel did not confirm or deny involvement in the killing of Karmi, 27, leader of the Al Aqsa Brigades in the West Bank town of Tulkarem.
Karmi had boasted of killing two Tel Aviv restaurant owners and was accused by Israel of having killed a total of nine Israelis. He survived an Israeli missile attack on his car in September.
Karmi's funeral procession wound through the streets of Tulkarem, with mourners carrying his body, wrapped in a Palestinian flag.
Militiamen shot in the air, and one shouted "settlers, beware."
The latest violence undermined US truce efforts, and it is not clear whether Washington mediator Anthony Zinni will return to the region later this week as planned.

We all know. You seem to be the one in the dark....
For one thing, he has two or three main themes he pounds on, for another he has some quirky writing habits, and he's a poor actor. You need to pay more attention. Try getting all the Leftist fog from in front of your face.
My question was: "how much land do you propose Israel offer to the Palestinians before Palestinian land is no longer considered to be 'occupied by force'?"
"PEACE thru RESPECT
RESPECT thru UNITY"
Great idea, but sounds impossible unless the following thinking changes...
Seif- "All the above are happening , and in the background there is Palestine, the essential issue which has been tearing at the hearts of all Arabs for half a century and which is occupied by force by the Israelis."
You, Joe- "Now if that cease-fire you are proposing were to become real, wouldn't it mean then that Palestine is still occupied by force, meaning that it is NOT really a cease-fire?"
Marcelo- "My post was clear, the peace you talked about or your hero talked about, is one sided peace because there is no mention about Israeli occupation which have been there since 67 or the fate of refugees who have been in camps for more than 50 years.....so what don't you understand??"
D- "salam every one.. I would like to hear the opinion of any palistians living in the occupied lands and what they want? peace/no peace.. In my naive opinion, they are the ones who will decide about their future, if they want to forgive many years of obuse and frustration.."
Jammer- "No Arab country is occupying Israeli lands. Israel is the occupier of Syrian, Lebanese and Palestinian lands."
Jammer again- "If those countries, or any other Arab country, were capable of threatening Israeli security then why couldnt they liberate their illegally occupied lands in the first place?"
Seif ( Previous Topic of the Week - Protests condemning the U.S. retaliation and attacks on Afghanistan )- "No we want all non-Arab Jews = Zionists out of occupied Palestine, if they must die to achieve this then so be it this is a legitimate fight! Remember self-defense they have occupied our homeland (with the help of the West) so we have the right to try to get it back . "
Hattie- "As for 'Palestine' - in quotes because it is a name given to the country of Israel after the Romans destroyed that country, and was never an independent state until the land was given back to Israel in 1948 - being occupied by force: how much land do you propose Israel offer to the Palestinians before Palestinian land is no longer considered to be 'occupied by force'?
Many of the posters on this board seem to agree that only by destroying Israel can there be "peace". Destruction for Peace=oxymoron. Thank you all for answering my question, "how much land do you propose Israel offer to the Palestinians before Palestinian land is no longer considered to be 'occupied by force'?"
Selective history. Palestine, never a country, is now somehow not only a country, but an "occupied" one. Arab states have never invaded Israel in this new version of history, making the Six-Day War an apparent non-event. Obviously, these non-invasions did not occur with the objective that is shared by many of the posters on this board: the total distruction of Israel.
Most Israeli's want the Palestinians to have their own state, but not if it comes with the price tag of the re-distruction of Israel. I guess this means that the Palestinians will never have their own state. Thank you all for your wisdom and insight. I'm sure that war-weary Palestinians will thank you all for it as well.
As usual, you are all invited to flame away, like this pearl of wisdom that Marcelo glomed from his too-tight tinfoil hat: "For you a hero is somebody who is there to serve Israeli interest, for me it is just a puppet who opens his mouth only when Sharon or push pulls the string..."
For me, a hero is a leader who stands up for a principle, even if it means his/her life. A hero is also an everyday person who stands up for a principle even if it means his/her life, and/or otherwise becomes more than the sum of his/her parts. A hero does not blow up innocent people. I don't think Ariel Sharon is a hero, Marcelo, and if you were correct in your tinfoil hat assumption, I would think he is.
What do you say we follow the the principle of King Abdullah's proposal, rather than the politics of it?
If Mideast politics need to be changed in the process, so be it. Politics be damned. Peace is what counts.

Really, why not? You could ask your friend, former Communist and Black Panther worker David Horowitz. I'm sure he knows.
Rotfl. Perhaps choo-choo is trolling for his fone # :).
Great graphic. It's missing "The Australian", "State Attorney" and "Doctor -something-". Dennis, you remember any more?
Arabs DID do it, you idiot. You DESERVE some brutality for that. Even Tex_Oma's posts aren't THAT blatently hateful...at least not the ones I've read. Biased yes. Hateful...not really.
Better a former Leftie who saw the light and now is an articulate voice of the Right, than Leftists posing as Conservatives but when exposed are more like lunatic fringe Buchananites with anti-Semitic/anti-Israel leanings.
The Jews let the Palestinians stay so they can worship at the Dome of the Rock. The Palestinians respond by terrorism. They as a people have not bothered to stop those in their communities from committing terrorism. Freedom is earned, the Palestinians have not earned it.
If we cut all the humanitarian aid from Israel, we would have to cut it from all the Muslim nations too. Thousands of innocent people would die, although many of them die anyway because of the corruption of their governments.
Simple solution- next act of terrorism, all Palestinians will be deported to their nearest Arab nation. Anyone with a problem with that, war. Treaties don't work, Arafat is useless, and they've been at a long dragged out war anyway so there's nothing to loose there.
That's why I called him your friend. We all know how well connected veronica is. LOL. And if you admire guys who spend most of their lives trying to destroy the United States of America, well, that's your right.
What an ignorant statement.
David Horowitz is trying to 'destroy' the United States? LOL...Now that is downright loony. I'd be interested in how you think he is. Please tell me more. I'm not all that 'well-connected.' I just happen to know him. And I consider myself lucky that I do.
You: What an ignorant statement.
You said in post #98: Israel could have solved the Egyptian problem in 73, but didn't because it didn't fit US foreign policy objectives.
Changed your mind?
I'd just like to see the Palestinians DEMONSTRATE a little PEACE, and totally STOP the terrorism. Israel keeps offering the Palestinians their own state, and the Palestinians keep responding by killing Israelis. But the Palestinians are portrayed as the "good guys" while Israel is an evil occupier. It gets tiresome.
(20:00) Israeli killed in drive-by shooting near Jerusalem
By The Jerusalem Post Internet Staff
Palestinian terrorists killed a woman motorist in a drive-by shooting near Givat Ze'ev, northwest of Jerusalem, a short while ago.
Another woman occupant of the car was moderately to seriously wounded in the chest and leg. Medics took her to Hadassah-University Hospital in Ein Kerem.
The attack took place on Route 443 near a gas station at the entrance to Givat Ze'ev.
The terrorists reportedly fled in the direction of Ramallah, Israel Radio reported.
Yes I deny that and it is an idiotic statement.
Kinda makes you sick, doesn't it?
