You'll take a lot of heat on this, but the majority on this forum think you and I are idiots for even noticing where this nation is headed, and complete a--h---s for saying anything about it. I'll continue to voice my opinion. For the time being, we can still do that. I don't give it long though.

Frankly, I don't care where the nation is headed, ethnically. What bothers me is this deification of the concept of "diversity." To me, and to most on FR, unity is the higher principle. You want to consider yourself a Black American, or a Latino American, or whatever, that's fine, as long as you consider yourself an AMERICAN. I saw a poster recently that said, "Our strength is our diversity." Wrong! Look at the Balkans if you think that a nation or region is made strong by people hanging onto their petty ethnic origins. Our strength is in a unity behind the founding principles of this nation -- unique in the world -- and the guiding light to all repressed peoples of every nationality and ethnic background. The principles of our nation are colorblind. They are the foundation of the dream that Martin Luther King articulated almost 40 years ago. Your racist tendency of defining "White America" versus "Black America" versus "Hispanic America" is a depressing vision of the future. No one will be turned away if they truly want to become part of the American culture. It's only those who wish to place themselves in a self-imposed segregated culture, where there are no absolute collective values that are honored, who are a threat to this nation.

It's not an accident that the Democrat Party engages in race-baiting. Their continued success at the polls, since they are bereft of vision and principles, is contingent upon piecing together little pockets of discontented and angry people, until that patchwork represents a majority. The more they can encourage people to feel lousy about this nation, the more discontent they can generate, and the more then can cobble together a majority. Some of us refuse to take such a pessimistic view of our nation, particularly such pessimism that is based on race.

Funny how that works. But we gotta say what's True.
