18:35) Israeli killed in West Bank terror shooting By The Jerusalem Post Internet Staff

One Israeli was killed and two more were wounded just after 5:30 p.m. in a shooting attack northwest of Nablus in Samaria.

One of the victims was critically wounded, a second was moderately wounded, and a third very lightly wounded by Palestinian gunfire near the Kuchin intersection adjacent to Kedumim.

IDF doctors were unable to revive the critically wounded Israeli and he died in the field.

The moderately wounded Israeli was hit in his shoulder by gunfire, Israel Radio reported.

The wounded were treated by an IDF medical team on the scene and were later airlifted to Sheba Hospital at Tel Hashomer.

IDF and police forces are currently searching the area for the terrorists.

Two possible scenarios are now being investigated by security forces:

Palestinian gunmen in a passing vehicle opened fire and immediately fled the scene into nearby Palestinian Authority-controlled Kuchin.

Palestinian gunmen set an ambush and opened fire as the Israelis passed, then subsequently fled the scene.

Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat's Fatah faction has claimed responsibility for the killing.

The shooting came just hours after Fatah said it would avenge the death of Tulkarm Tanzim commander Raed Mahmoud Karmi.

Palestinians claim Israel was responsible for the car bomb blast this morning in which Karmi was killed. In the wake of the blast, Fatah said will no longer abide by the Arafat-declared cease-fire.

FROM JPOST:

Fatah claims responsibility for Samaria killing

Palestinian Authority Chairman's Fatah faction has claimed responsibility for the early evening shooting attack that killed one Israeli and wounded two others in Samaria.

Fatah's military wing, the Aksa Battalions, carried out the deadly attacks.

Earlier today, security forces closed to unarmored cars the road along which the shooting was carried out due to warnings indicating an attack was imminent.

I wish the Israeli Govt would unleash the IDF and get rid of these murdering bastards once and for all. The reason they dont is cause the Nazi Jew-haters ,whether of the left or far right, will cry out hysterically for the 'poor Palestinians'

Arafat is as much a terrorist as Bin Laden

He always has been. In fact, he was an early player--Bin Laden probably thought of Arafat as his hero.

Thank you for the photographs. Especially powerful is the close-up of the Isreali soldier carrying the coffin of a colleague, which bears the crescent of the Muslims, because his dead comrade was both an Isreali soldier AND a Muslim of Arabian ancdestry. That photograph speaks volumes.

Every time I see one of these "demonstration" photographs of terrorists parading in masks, I ask myself the same question. These are public actions by Hamas and other terrorists. They happen at predictable times and places. Why, oh why, has not Israel attacked any of these demonstrations and shot everyone who is wearing a mask?

They could do it? Why don't they do it? These are all "martyrs in the making." Why not help them "meet Allah" BEFORE they kill Isrealu citizens with bombs or machineguns, rather than hunt them down piecemeal AFTER they have killed Israelis?

Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat's Fatah faction has claimed responsibility for the killing.

Fatah agents did not just act on their own, but they have the backing of Arafat, and were acting on his orders. It is ludicrous that Israel allows Arafat to exist, after such attacks are carried out, but the Israelis have been beaten down by revisionist historians, to hate themselves and accept this sort of terror.
