Palestinian radicals say Israel "opened doors of hell" with slaying

The Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, a radical spin-off of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's Fatah faction, said it was ending its declared truce with Israel and vowed revenge for the killing of one of its local leaders.

"There is no more ceasefire and we will retaliate for the killing. Revenge and retaliation will come soon," the group said in a statement issued at a demonstration in support Arafat in the West Bank town of Ramallah.

"We tell (Israeli Prime Minister Ariel) Sharon and his government and his people that by assassinating Raed al-Karmi you have opened the doors of hell and you will be burned by it, killing for killing and destruction for destruction," it said.

It said its vow of vengeance was also prompted by Israel's destruction of Palestinian homes on the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt last week, which the Israeli army said were being used as a blind for arms smuggling.

"Destroying homes this way, displacing families in this shameful manner, and killing freedom fighters will not make us stop: what is called a ceasefire is not valid any more as long as the occupation exists," it said.

The Palestinian Authority accused Israel of engineering an explosion which killed Raed al-Karmi, a leader of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, in the northeastern West Bank town of Tulkarem earlier Monday.

The Palestinians just don't seem to appreciate carefully-executed Jewish surgery. They judicially take out the cancer while leaving the surrounding tissue alone. The time might come when everything associated with Arafat might just have to be bulldozed into the Jordan. If I were a Palestinan with any sense of reality I would pack up and get out.

Yep! They whine like three year olds when one of them is killed. Then they go blow themselves up, and they are martyrs for Allah. Huh? They can't have it both ways. It's either good when one of them dies for the cause, or it isn't. They would kill one another if they couldn't find a common enemy. Then the war would be over who takes their religion most seriously. They have already done that in Afghanistan and Iraq/Iran.

Personally, I'm having real difficulty believing there are many Palestinians that really believe the Virgins Are Waiting stuff. Mohammed knew his followers in his day, and I'm sure it worked on more than a few of them at the time. but think it's something else in this day. Maybe they just respect a person who will go to any length to get what they want and isn't slowed up by a conscience. Just a thought.
