OK everyone, read the story:
BEIRUT (Reuters) - The Palestinian militant group Hamas said it was responsible for a pre-dawn raid in southern Israel Wednesday in which Palestinian gunmen shot dead four Israeli soldiers before being killed themselves.
Speaking at a political conference in Beirut, Hamas politiburo head Khaled Meshal identified the gunmen as Hamas members Imad Rizq and Mohammed Jamoos.
The attack was the most serious violence since Palestinian President Yasser Arafat, under U.S. and Israeli pressure, last month called a halt to armed attacks on Israelis by Palestinian militants.
Hamas, an Arabic acronym for Islamic Resistance Movement, had said that it was suspending attacks inside Israel. The group opposes peace moves Arafat launched with Israel in 1993.
Now look at the headline:
2 Palestinians Killed by Israeli Soldiers
TOPICS: Foreign Affairs; News/Current Events
KEYWORDS: hamas; israel; mediabias; reuters; wartimepropaganda
Are you kidding me? Palestinian gunmen attack an IDF outpost, kill 4, and then end up being killed, and this is the headline? People skimming the news would think that Israel killed a couple Palestinians walking their dog. Reuters should have a lot of explaining to do about this.

Not when it comes to Jews. It's like they really do want us wiped off the face of the earth. I can't help but wonder what they think will take our place.

2 Palestinians Killed by Israeli Soldiers This was probably the headline for the initial version of the story .. before Israel admitted that it has lost soldiers in the attack.
I can't access Reuters directly here .. but AFP, AP and Kyoto all had something similar .. then changed the headline as the story developed.

Sadim

"Palestinian Gunmen Kill Four Israeli Soldiers" - Reuter's Headline on Yahoo!
"Hamas Says It Carried Out Gaza Attack" and "Palestinian Gunmen Kill Four Israeli Soldiers" - Two different Reuter's headlines on Reuter's site.
Where did you see the one you posted?

if they corrected it, then fine. the initial headline was gross, though.

I was watching this story all night. And all night, there was no mention of any Israelis being killed. Just that some of the settlements were on high alert after two Palestinians dressed as policemen were killed. Then I went off in search of a photo for Luis, and now the entire story is changed. Imagine that. They have acknowledged that Israeli soldiers were actually killed. I'm shocked.

Newspapers often write their own headlines for these stories.

Reuters sucks, and by the way "Hamas" is actually in the bible. It means "violence"
[het-mem-samick].
