If this really had a profound affect on her, the rational thing to do would have been to get involved in the NRA's effective efforts at gun owner safety education. Instead, she has steadfastly refused to consider any program that doesn't in some way shill for her utopia of a disarmed, sheeplike populace (and regardless of what she professes in the article, that is exactly what she wants. She just knows she can't come out and say it -- yet).

I've followed these people for quite a while, and this is the first time I've heard this prattle. Are they rewriting their history to match their new focus on 'safety'?
