Damn. So much for Fox finaly solving its 10pm problem. Acutaly, I think Keyes will not do well. He has a very annoying voice and personality, even if he is very bright and makes good points. I just don't think that he'd be good tv for an hour, 5 times a week. Ratings will tell though..

National Review's own Richard Brookhiser has described Mr. Keyes as America's answer to Mussolini. I've heard him speak a couple of times and consider the comparison apt. The guy's so shrill and off-putting I can't imagine him surviving long on TV, unless he learns to tone it down a bit.

Isnt 10:00 PM when Greta Van OJ is doing her show on Fox? At least Alan will have some weak competition. And he is going to need weak competition. While I am a big Alan Keyes fan, still having a Bush/Keyes 2000 bumper sticker in my cube at work and Alan Keyes campaign buttons as well I do not think he nor his temperment is made for being a talking head show host. I wish him the best and hope I am wrong.

Wow, that's fabulous. Kudos to MSNBC for giving him an opportunity, even if it is a token sop. I think he'll make them very happy with this decision. Indirect thanks to FOX Newschannel, this would never have happened without the impact they have made. Will be interesting in 6-months to see the ratings spike they'll show, flat til 10pm, big bump, then drop back at 11!
So is this gonna be up against Greter? If so, smooth move by MSNBC. Now if they could just turn Nora, Ashley, and Campbell into good conservative girls(they can keep Kris Ginsing).

Wow! This is an exciting development.

Sorry, CaL, but MSPMS is a perfect location for a RINO, like Dr. Keyes, to continue his damage to the pubbie party...

I thought he got a Ph.D. in economics from Howard...

It is good news, but I think 4 days a week is a mistake. It should be once a week. Keyes will not be able with this format to have shows with real substance over time, with an in depth discussion of the issues, in part because he won't have time to prepare. It will be more in the nature of the other daily shows, which are more superficial (including superficial argument) and involve lots of political gossip. No doubt the show will start off stong, but I think Keyes will be hard pressed in time to continue to offer fresh and substantive material. We shall see.

Good for Alan. Although I was already a Keyes fan, watching him make mincemeat of Dershowitz during their "church and State" debate convinced me that this guy needs greater exposure. I think "talk television" is the perfect forum for Alan and I hope he becomes MSNBC's biggest hit this year.

Awesome, something to watch after Oreilly!

Fox has proven, once and for all, that "fair and balanced" works. Does anyone think this would have happened before Fox started putting conservatives on the air with any regularity? Just give the people what they want to hear, what they know to be true, and they will respond. If you build it, he will come.
Cal, this is a dream come true for me. Dr. Keyes got my vote in '96 and in '00. He speaks out of genuine concern for the direction this country is headed, is the most logical of all the analysts out there, and is the quickest on his feet in terms of debate skills. What a coup for MSNBC!

Looks like everyone is trying to get the conservatives back. No matter what you think of Keyes this is another small victory (will be total victory when the shows put together talking panels that are not so liberal leaning.)

FABULOUS!!! The downside is I may have to watch more TV now.

Alan Keyes tells it like it is regarding the Republican Party. Damn glad he's gonna have his own show. Here's an example of AK holding the RINOs accountable...
GOP Folds On ChinaGate
I hope his MSNBC venture is a raging success.
