"And the leaders of Bob Jones University, where Gov. George. Bush appeared during his presidential campaign, call Pope John Paul II the "Anti-Christ," and the Catholic Church "satanic" and the "Mother of Harlots."

Much of the Catholic bashing is from so-called Catholic dissenting groups, usually headed by 'Catholic' priests, nuns, and theologians. Satan made good use of Martin Luther and Henry VIII, both 'good' Catholics, so why would Satan drop a successful strategy!

My sisters and I all went to Catholic school. I buy the Nun-zilla and boxing-nun type stuff as stocking stuffers every year, if I see one that is amusing.
Not to dismiss prejudice against Catholics, but Catholics are probably the biggest customers of this sort of thing.
BTW- The other day I saw a boxing-rabbi for sale. The nun could probably take him 2 out of 3 rounds.

One can readily venture into novelty stores and buy a "Boxing Nun" handpuppet Hey! I like those things!

These settlers were, of course, predominantly Protestant.I think the writer of this article just happened to have left out the history of why Protestants left certain parts of Europe?
Hint: it begins with John Hus, Menno Simons, etc.

Just curious as to why you're bringing up an article that's nearly 2 years old?

Hey, Satan knows the right address. No sense bothering with all the conflicting and contradicting clamor of Protestant denominations (38,000 and counting). They're no threat to him, at least, not compared with the barque of St. Peter.

Talk about wanting to be a victim. All of Christianity is fair game, "Catholics" get over yourselves.

The modern manifestations of anti-Catholicism come in different degrees, some of which I don't mind, some of which I think should be eradicated.
I don't mind if someone's religion includes the tenet that the Pope is the anti-Christ, because it seems to me all religions that theirs is the only way to get to heaven, literally or figuratively. It doesn't mean the people cannot live in tolerance of each other.
I do mind when it is stylish among powerful people to use the world of art and politics to ridicule Catholics and sound off against Catholicism like latter-day KKK. I condemn these actions with protest and returned ridicule.
What should be eradicated world-wide is physical harm from slaughter elsewhere to vandalism here. Those of us who care about a tolerant society should work to make sure authorities do not allow physical crime against Catholics go by the board. That, I think is where the real danger lays: in government kowtowing to the opinions of rich and stylish leftists.

"Mother of Harlots"
My mother would use that term, that and witchcraft, and idolatry, and Oh you can't imagine!
The real sadness here is that it is usually professed Christians who are bashing Catholics. This is what tells me that they may profess to be Christian but they have fallen way short for if you do not have love you do not have Christ because Christ is love.
