Here's one from Karen who's from upstate, New York. Big territory. "Bill, I almost always agree with you, but you are really wrong on this one. The pilot did exactly the right thing. And anyone who believes a government ID cannot be forged is living in a fantasy."

It is truly mind-boggling that you accept the self-serving statements of some high-priced shill

Guess they don't pay the Shills well at American???

I actually have little opinion as to what the agent said since all he said is he acted professionaly. His Shill went on but he is a Shill as you said.

Problem is American Airlines Shill did a very poor job. The statements they release prove beyond a doubt that this Pilot and American Airlines mis-behaved. He either knew this was a USSS Agent and kicked him off the plane anyway or he suspected he was an armed terroist and kicked him off anyway (leaving him with his gun). Neither makes me happy.

Makes me wonder if this cowboy pilot wanted increased security or something and thought keeping this Agent off the plane would force the issue. It has. There are now plans for a smart card system.

Did you flunk reading? The SOC was 1,000 miles away. The pilot asked for pictures of terrorists, are you saying ALL TERRORISTS ARE ARAB? Is that what you're saying?

Have you taken a look at the FBI's top twenty wanted. A dazzling spectable of Middle Eastern Men. Since the end of the troubles in Ireland, when was the last time you have seen a picture of a non-Arab terrorist?

when the pilot left, the SS agent was still with a uniformed officer,

Really and just where is this information located it wasn't in American Airlines statement or any of the other four articles I posted. One from the Washington Times.

Seems the pilot asked the Agent to leave the plane. That would have been when the shooting would have started had this man really have been a Terroist.

Once they suspected an armed man was a terroist they were duty bound to let security take care of it.

I know I've asked myself why someone would be registered for 4 years and have NO bookmarks. That usually indicates a liberal disruptor. Gee, that must be it!

Some of us dont know what a FR bookmark is. We are not as interested in trivia as Senator McCarthy here. McGavin does it right so perhaps he's a Democrat super mole from DU.

Am I the only person on this board that has read Tom Clancy's Executive Orders? If so, let me be the first to tell you, the president's ARAB/AMERICAN agent was a SLEEPER!

You want to quote Tom Clancy fiction as proof for your concerns. Who you going to quote next Martha Stewart? Repeat after me, fiction is fiction. Its make believe.

Is it really your job to dis-arm terroist???

Are you on something? And do you really mean "taoist"? Or is it just that your Arab/English dictionary had a tear just over that "r"?

You responses are political correctness run amock. The pilots main consideration is the safety of his passengers, not to some stupid liberal agenda that dictates that it is acceptable to get a planeload of people killed so as not to hurt somebody's feelings.

Where do you come up with this political correctness bullshit? The pilot was an arragant bastard that was either too lazy or to stupid to check the agents credentials. It appears to me that decided upfront that no one was going to carry a gun on his plane and proceeded to create excuses to make it so.

I could care less that he grilled the agent. It would seem suspicious having an Arab-American Seceret SErvice agent. But its only reasonable that if you have a customer paying full fare that is on important govenment business that you would atleast try to confirm the identity of the individual. If only to provent some later flight from being hijacked. This smells. Im not saying the pilot was biggoted but he flunked the good judgment test

Why does race even come into it? The man had a GUN. That's G-U-N. (BTW, that's not directed at you, Howlin, just at the race-baiter argument). To me, that's reason enough to check him out, no matter what his race is. What I can't figure out is why AA didn't call the USSS to check the guy out. The number's in the phone book, for Pete's sake, usually with the emergency numbers.

And where was the agent stopped: the ticket counter, the metal detector, or the gate? And if it was the latter, how'd he get by the first two? And what time did the agent arrive at the airport, because he should have arrived early enough to allow for thorough screening.

Just like this flight. Five Arabs asked to leave the plane for further checking. But they claim they wern't racial profiling -- Right.

Where did this come from?

Did you just make it up? This is new news to me.

Remember, the supervisor also works for American Airlines and they are in full damage control mode.

And you think this agent and CAIR aren't? Remember who made this public, NOT American Airlines.

This is wrong. Read the report of the control manager.

The contol manager suggested that he contact the White House to confirm the identity and the pilot refused. Later, after the plane had departed, the Control Manager did call the Secreet Service and confirmed that the Agent was who he said he was in five minutes. Didnt happen until the plane left. End of story.

What your reply suggests to me is that the USSS and the airlines don't seem to have a mutually agreed upon set of procedures to always be followed when an agent with a gun arrives for a flight. THAT is nuts.

This is pretty confusing. I'm reading stuff on this very thread that is being presented as "fact" that hasn't been reported anywhere else.

I sort of agree with you; in my opinion, a Secret Service agent should have KNOWN the procedure and should have been prepared. It's his duty to help the pilot faciliate HIS own boarding.

It sounds like HE is too sensitive about his ethnicity. And it sounds VERY stupid to have carried that book onboard for all the rest of the passengers to see. Would you do that?

I personally don't give a rats ass on Arabs rights! Profile the hell out of ALL of them! I'll be damned if I'm going to get on a plane with my family only to die for political correctness sake! Any Arab with a weapon should be thrown off ASAP!!!! The pilot is 100% right! He has the duty for the safety of his passengers and crew first and someone rights last!

The person that "didn't know he was Arab" was the control manager 1000 miles away. This was previously addressed by someone else. You're totally clueless.

Really? Mr Control Manager, this is the pilot of AA flight #xx. I have armed individual here who says he is a secret service agent. He has a photo ID but i have some reservations about boarding him. How can I confirm his identity. His name is Wallid Shattner. Oh by the way can you send me all the pictures AA has of foreign terrorists. The Control Manager had no clue the agent was middle eastern in appearance? Same as Clinton didnt inhale and it depends on what the meaning of is, is. Dont blame us if we dont buy their drivel.
