On todays program Benny Hinn announced that he had a vision and the Lord explained to him that the Lord was going to topple the current government of Iran.

He said that the Lord would show favor to the people of Iran because of the assistance Persian Kings gave in rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem [2 Chronicles 36:23,24].

The feed is a video of the "this is your day" program.

The first few chapters of Acts is a good place to look. In chapters 2 through 5 Luke several times mentions the specific group that is performing "signs and wonders", miracles. It's not believers in general, it's a specific group.

At the beginning of Acts you will see the apostles choosing a replacement for Judas, and they mention the qualifications that a prospective apostle must meet. One of those requirements limits that select group in time. You had to have witnessed specific events in history to be considered; and when that generation died off, so necessarily would the office of apostle. Church Fathers who came after were important men. But apostles they weren't, and there are none today.

In both the old and new testaments there are many others that 'perform' miracles than Jesus and 12 others. We both know that, and neither of us doubts it.

I don't know what question to ask next, yet remain non-combative. It isn't worth fighting over, that is sure. Thanks for your response.

Benny Hill makes predictions?

Yep, along with a hell of a comb-over!

If you bible thumpers don't quit preaching Revelations we may have to take you people out.

Hey Cid, is he going to take you out to dinner, or just take you out?

I don't know who you have in mind in the NT besides Christ and the 12.

The 70 mentioned in the gospels. Luke 10. Stephen in Acts 6:8. Those are the first 2 that come to mind...

Yep, you do have a point, it wasn't confined to the 12. But if it is a gift that carried forward after the time of the apostles, who are some notable examples? The Catholic Saints? Seriously, I think those who continued to display these gifts would be quite famous in church history.

I agree these gifts haven't been prominent since that age. Did God change the way He does things since then, and that is why we don't see that kinda stuff? Or does He want to do things the same way, but we can't handle it. The miracles came with a price, and the 'you lie, you die' policy makes me a little nervous. I should live my life so that it wouldn't scare me, but it does...

Not Benny Hill, it's Benny Hinn. He is a comedian also, has the world's biggest comb-over and says the most unbelieveably funny things.

Want a laugh? Watch Trinity Broadcasting Network. The one thing funnier than Benny, is Jan Crouch of the world's biggest wig and heaviest make-up.

Actually, the one thing funnier(more peculiar) than those two is the thousands of people who send them their hard-earned cash so they can live extravagant life styles. The Crouches recently spent $5 million on a home in Newport Beach, CA. As P.T. Barnum said, "There is a sucker born every minute."

I admire Hinn for that hair thing he has going on. I wonder if it's flammable?

"May the Lord his God be with him, and let him go up!" The Lord God said it - and it was done.

I once heard a preacher on the radio say that his church had been lifted into the air by the power of his congregation's faith. Later my uncle came over and said, "Yeah, I was parked across the street at the gas station the whole time. That f'n liar, his church didn't budge an inch."

Moral of the story: Benny Hinn's probably full of sh*t.
