IF NEWSPAPERS ARE indeed the first draft of history, Bill Clinton's chance for a favorable reappraisal of his presidency is in trouble.

His supporters have hoped that as time adds perspective, Clinton's personal peccadilloes will shrink in memory, while underappreciated accomplishments will grow in importance.

That is based on Condit's conservative(for a California democrat) voting record and that was one of 31 House Democrats to vote for the Clinton impeachment inquiry.

He later voted against impeachment, so it's a false assumption. Condit is no conservative, nor is he a clinton critic....more like a clinton clone.
