What about the role of those inside the REPUBLICAN party in demonizing Christians? Bill Kristol comes to mind. He virtually destroyed Gary Bauer by urging him to go to McCain and thereby silenced him as a spokesman for Christian values.

Geez...Democrats planning to demonize Christians is news? Here is the real story in this article:
"Not surprisingly, the people who turned out for the birthday celebration in Manhattan looked closer in age to Elizabeth Cady Stanton than Sarah Jessica Parker. The contents of the giveaway goody bags were largely related to estrogen replacement. And the tone was nostalgic. In the testimonials to its enduring power, Ms. was often referred to in the past tense."
The Femi-Nazis are losing ground...good news to start the New Year!

To any Americans left in this country who doubt that the Democratic Party is a purely evil, destructive, anti-Christian, anti-American, criminal organization..........take heed.
The lines are clearly drawn.
[BTW.............I hope they do implement this insane "strategy". What little support they (the DNC) have left in the South will utterly evaporate.]

I hope this turns right around and kicks then square in the face, "big time." Their message itself is extremely intolersant!
What's so bad about the ten commandments, eh? Which one, if not all, do they disagree with? No killing, stealing, lying......

I think it says it all that the lady refers to the 2000 election as "Bush-Gore-Nader." What about Bush-Gore-Browne? Bush-Gore-Buchanan? Bush-Gore-[insert preferred candidate here]?

It isn't just the Democrats. There are any of a number of supposedly conservative posters here at FR who routinely refer to conservative Christians as "the American Taliban." It is almost always over the conservative Christian refusal to tolerate or celebrate homosexual behavior.
Such smear tactics have a long history. The pagan sodmoite Roman Emperor Nero used them, labelling Christians "enemies of mankind." It's a badge of honor to be smeared in this fashion for remaining faithful to one's beliefs.
Given the pro-sodomy mob zeal and fire that Hollywood, liberal Democrats, and atheist "anything goes" libertarians have spread throughout American culture, this could again be a successful tactic. It will be interesting to see how Bush responds to it.
The onslaught continues.

As odd as this may sound, and I'm embarrassed to admit it, I have several yellow dog Democrats in my family. They just happen to be Christians and never miss church when the doors are open. The last presidential election just about did my 80 year old grandfather in. I dont think he will be voting for them any more, even though he has voted for them for 60 years. He is what I would call a Dixiecrat. I dont think he would tolerate it very much if his party labeled Christians as the Taliban. He threw a fit over that evil James Byrd commercial but still voted for Gore anyway. Maybe Democrats will dig their own grave with this one. There is always hope isnt there?

Wow, what a great collection of sweeping generalizations and innuendos! I hate to interrupt your fun, but not all Christians are members of the "religious right." So if the Democrats were going to "demonize" (your author's word) the religious right (which, in itself, is dubious at best), that does not mean they are "demonizing" Christians.
How exactly is this any different from the White House purported plan to "demonize" the Dems over the faltering economy for not giving Bush free rein to use 9/11 to push more tax cuts for the rich? The implication that the Republicans are "above" politics is laughable. Nobody's going to buy it, no matter how high Shrub's approval rating is these days.

Why the large type?

This strategy is not real bright of the dims. I hate to type this in here because I know some of them troll for data and ideas at this site (lacking good ones sprouting from within their own minds), but this is a stupid time to start this fight. They'll be calling for podiatrists right and left as one by one they shoot themselves in the foot.
I hear Bugs in the distance ... What a buncha maroons.

At the risk of getting flamed, I'm going to be a little contrarian on these points. Like the wiseguys in Mob flicks who say "Nothing personal ... it's just business", the Democrats don't care about or hate anything--really. They simply see attacks on their enemies as a way to increase and consolidate their political power. The difference is that, while we on the Right recognize their hegemony for what it is, they disavow what they are doing and offer us explanations that they are merely trying to "protect the children and seniors". They know they are lying. They know the endgame. They know the goal. And yet they still don't care what it takes to get there. Now that is what angers me about them; that they are willing to do almost anything in order to gain more political power. I don't believe the Right is willing to sacrfice its soul for seats in Congress and the presidency.

The DemocRats are finding out that there is no rating in the leftist agenda. The proof is Geraldo Rivera. He spent a couple of years singing to the coire, and finally jumped ship.
The right wingers, by that I don't mean the Christian nuts or Jewish orthodox with their dingiling sideburns, need to invade and take over another network
Once we made the right side of the issue a main stream idea, the left will commit suiside!
