Even in the best of Clinton days (before the Lewinsky escapade), his strengths -- such as balancing the budget to help point the economy upward -- went unrecognized by his frothing opponents.

Gee, I suppose we could just buy this "spin" attempt and give Clinton the credit suggested in this sentence -- along with the slap at conservatives like most on this forum... But Clinton's only contribution to balancing the budget was in allowing the GOP to take-over in 1994 which got spending under control for a few years (not many) while tax revenues eclipsed that spending thanks to the economy kick that started in 1982-3 under the Reagan tax cuts. Clinton's budgets forecast "deficits of $200+ billion for a far as the eye could see" until Newt and Dick Armey took over with the Contract on America. OK: give Clinton credit for not screwing up the economy more than he did (with Reich, et al) and accepting welfare reform, etc. That's all the credit he deserves.

Great legacy, Bill: you didn't screw up the economy while you were diddling with young girls, getting yourself impeached, and ruining the Justice Department for the 8 years you were President. It will take some extraordinary historians to burnish that legacy.

Clinton Should Focus on Others, Not Himself

Clinton is not capable of such a task, In "Bill Clintons World" there is only three people he has ever cared about in his entire life! and that is....."Me, Myself and I"

And my dog should stop sniffing other dog's rear ends.

Let's face it. There are some things that will never change.

I'm hoping Jimmy and Billy will be going to Zimbawie to monitor the coming election.

I'm sure they would be a big help.

such as balancing the budget to help point the economy upward

Balanced budgets have very little to do with a growing economy. The economy grew like wildfire in the 1980's without anything near a balanced budget.

...Clinton's fatal flaw -- his boundless, blinding love of himself.

Back in the '50's in Sunday School, we were taught what Clinton missed...how to spell "JOY...

Jesus

Others

Yourself

The ex-pres #42 just continues to prove he is just a feckless disgraceful small man.

Most adults by his age would be able to ascertain what is right. What is good. What is true.

Nor would an adult need to constantly find himself in so many unsavory positions that the only recourse available to this person because he does not appear to possess a inner moral compass is to hire PR execs to create and polish an image solely for the purpose of his own pleasure of furthering his political and historic ambitions. Heck, so many liberals still revere him, swoon at the mere sight of him and with tears in their eyes wish he was still our president, so why does he even need to reestablish an image when he has so many duped?

Well, anyway, I wish him a Happy New Year and God Bless him and maybe he will find a wonderful happy fulfilling career using his gift of grab, er I mean gab, to help others more needful like President Jimmy Carter has been so graceful and successful at managing in his post presidential years.

Who woulda (coulda) thunk that America would have elected a worthless draft dodger for president the first time. I nearly fainted - same as the OJ verdict - I really thought there was a huge mistake. But there was no mistake, people then and even now suck up to the slim ball. I just don't get it.

I would not allow Clinton (nor OJ) to take out my garbage.

"They're trying to pin the bin Laden thing on us."

Truth hurts, don't it?!

"It's not unreasonable to muster one pang of sympathy -- just one -- for the ex-president. Even in the best of Clinton days (before the Lewinsky escapade), his strengths -- such as balancing the budget to help point the economy upward -- went unrecognized by his frothing opponents."

What BOGUS NONSENSE!! Clinton fought heartily against a Balanced Budget, but the GOP Congress--and the economy--whupped his Big Guv'ment Butt!!

"But Clinton's time as president is over. His latest scheme showcases perhaps Clinton's fatal flaw -- his boundless, blinding love of himself."

Even the blind squirrel Virginian-Pilot finds an acorn of Truth every once in awhile.

Clinton Should Focus on Others Not Himself ????

He wouldn't know how. He has lived a life of doing nothing but that, and will continue to do so. Ya can't teach an old "dog" new tricks (and I mean that in the stictest sense, "DOG" that is.
