India, Pakistan prepare nukes, troops for war
Drudge Report ^

Posted on 12/30/2001 8:10:51 PM PST by GulliverSwift

The most alarming signs are preparations in both states for the use of nuclear-tipped missiles.

Intelligence agencies have learned of indications that India is getting its short-range Prithvi ballistic missiles ready for use. The missiles are within range of the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, Gertz reports in Monday's WASH TIMES... MORE...

Meanwhile, Pakistan is mobilizing its Chinese-made mobile M-11 missiles, also known as the Shaheen, which have been readied for movement from a base near Sargodha, Pakistan.

"If Pakistan and India go for an exchange, it is possible for fallout to hit the west coast of the US."

Will this fallout smell anywhere as bad as either side does in an elevator?

The solution for both India and Pakistan -

BAR SOAP

Indian empire? Why is it you always attack democracies and support dictatorships? Clearly America and freedom are concepts you despise. India isn't perfect, but at least they have free elections and property rights.

Regarding your point, yes India seized part of Kashmir. So did China. That doesn't change the fact that maps should show the reality on the ground (Kashmir divided into three parts). But then your US map probably shows the CSA still with plenty of slave holdings.

To be honest, I can't figure out whether you're a DNC plant attempting to make the right look stupid ("See America. Conservatives want to make slaves of it's minorities") or if you're actually an operative of a foreign nation. You're too consistently anti-American to be just a loony.

I would laugh at you if you did not have at least one week's supply of rations onboard, on your property. We work through our supply keeping it fresh, only ours is a 3 week supply with canned goods and water on reserve. By all means, stock up! Bottom line is, the over seas crap will not hurt us much. I hate to say this, but I hope the shit over there does go critical. We need a reminder as to what many countries today currently posses. However, I still stand fast that the two countries in question still do not have balls to go all out.

Most Freepers seem to be completely oblivous to what a total disaster a war between India and Pakistan would be right now. How likely is it that Al Qaeda troops can be kept in Afganistan, or those already in Pakistan can be found, if Pakistan is busy fighting India? Such as war needs to be avoied at all costs. Bush needs to forbid India from attacking Pakistan, and perhaps ensure a US-backed crackdown on Kashmiri terrorists to sweeten the deal. But such a war cannot be allowed.

I'm surprised at the number of Freepers who are so thoughtlessly cheering India on just because Pakistan is Mohammedan.

Got my wife and I Potassium Iodide, 18 days of canned goods and MRE's (in addition to the food already in the pantry) water, first aid kit, US Army basic first aid manuel, a back up first aid kit, battery operated lamps, oil lanterns, and candles. Plenty of ammo and a battery operated AM/FM/SW. Also, set aside the same amount of food and water for the dogs....as far as I'm concerned, India can do what it has to do!

Notice the name of the missle! DemocRAT governor of New Hampshire... Shaheen!

But then again, remember the great sunsets in the 60s caused by the dust from above ground testing?

I may be way off base here, but could all this talk about exchanging nukes be a ploy in part? What I mean is that the Pakistani presedent HAS to get rid of the terrorists in his country, but faces heavy opposition from his own people if he does. But the treat of a full scale nuclear war with India may change mainstream public opinion about siding with the west, and putting and end to to terrorism in Pakistan.

Too late for forbidding -- once Pakistani-backed terrorists attacked the heart of the Indian govt., our ability to restrain India went out the window from both a moral standpoint and a practical one. Pakistani efforts to catch Al-Qaeda have been weak and I'm still not convinced that Pakistan won't recreate the Taliban in a new form once we've moved on. Better to smash them now while their nuclear arsenal is small and limited in range.

You are right my fried,...bikini atol should rightfully be categorized as "monsters". I used N.M. as an example that many here seem to foreget about, very large warheads have been detonated on our homeland, by our defense department. If they fully understood Bikini (which I do not even fully understand the ramifications; but will say the payloads are "millions served" apart) they would really be scared. Thank God India and Pak do not have the order of warhead that we have..ANd thank God China is having a hard time doing anything significant with our W88...

"I think the US better start preparing for fallout shelters for its civil population."

I wouldn't worry to much about it... They don't have enough n-bombs to worry about. We have exploded more in NV than they have between them.

I still think we should have fallout shelters for our civil population. If terrorists can smuggle in a dirty bomb and spread radiation all over a major city, atleast the population can protect themselves in fallout shelters until they are rescued and evacuated. Right now we have nothing. Home shelters would be great, but in modern suburbia, working dads and moms are in different locations, kids are at school and/or daycare centers during the day. If a dirty bomb went off in New York City in the not so distant future. The cell phone system would be overloaded and dad/mom would be scrambling to find their kids and each other. When it comes to homeland security we are still not yet prepared.
