You are right my fried,...bikini atol should rightfully be categorized as "monsters". I used N.M. as an example that many here seem to foreget about, very large warheads have been detonated on our homeland, by our defense department. If they fully understood Bikini (which I do not even fully understand the ramifications; but will say the payloads are "millions served" apart) they would really be scared. Thank God India and Pak do not have the order of warhead that we have..ANd thank God China is having a hard time doing anything significant with our W88...

The largest bomb ever lit by the US (at Bikini) was 15-16 megatons which was about twice as big as they expected due to the unexpected interaction of the lithium in the fusion process. That must have been a real pucker-factor increaser, can you even imagine?

However, the USSR tested one with a design yield of 100-150 megatons, damped down to 50 for the test in a rare display of common sense for the Soviets.
