The most alarming signs are preparations in both states for the use of nuclear-tipped missiles.

Intelligence agencies have learned of indications that India is getting its short-range Prithvi ballistic missiles ready for use. The missiles are within range of the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, Gertz reports in Monday's WASH TIMES... MORE...

Meanwhile, Pakistan is mobilizing its Chinese-made mobile M-11 missiles, also known as the Shaheen, which have been readied for movement from a base near Sargodha, Pakistan.

Sheech... The only greater fool was those who knee jerk and buy the metals and then get caught in the pump & dump.

Do you really think you can eat the stuff?

I imagine that you "own" some metals now?

Ohhh I forgot if you sell the idea that the sky is falling then quite possibly the spot price of gold or silver will go skyhigh????

IMHO it is an industrial metal, dentists and electronics usage the best applications.

I bet your long diamonds????????????????????????????????

I can already see the Media blaming Bush for this. Just like they did with Jeffers.

Intelligence officials are especially worried about Pakistan's nuclear arsenal because control over the weapons is decentralized. Even before the latest moves, regional commanders could order the use of the weapons, which are based on missiles or fighter-bombers.

Imagine feudal warlords with control over nukes. Not a very 'fail-safe' situation.

"A nuke exchange could drive it up even higher than the level of January, 1980."

What Lazarus means when he mentions Jan. 1980 - that is when the price of gold on the world market hit $880 per ounce.
I checked the price of gold - I believe it was this past Thursday- it was $280 per ounce/up buck and a half from the previous day. (with gold at $280 - an American Eagle should sell for around $295 each or so - - in this example, a good dealer/a semi-large coin dealer - should be paying $291 - so - this is a four dollar spread...of course, this close spread would apply to - probably 50 gold Eagles at one time being purchased/sold.) (ten eagles would probably be a 6 or 7 dollar spread)
(I feel kinda guilty ...discussing money when Pak and India might be going down)

Fallout shelters? Please...do some research. By the time the "cloud" reaches us, the rads will be hardly noticable. Ask yourself why the "clouds" of radiation haven't swallowed us during all the tests in New Mexico? And WE test some serious shit, not the low grade the Indians and Paki's screw with..

I'm tired of all the nay sayers on this board spouting off about "nuclear winter" B.S. when they have no idea the short nor long term ramifications to us on native soil. Oh, and you "What about our troops in Paki...Guess what? The Military is a dangerous job, get used to the idea...

So let me understand this , they nuke each other and then all of the survivors want to live in America ..that's about right isn't it ?

Ahh...but then it becomes instant border closure. See the masses won't understand how radiation is spread, so let's simply say that "they" (the Indians and Pak's) can carry it in..problem solved (The dumb f*cks will buy it...meaning most of the voting populace)

The Pakistanis acquired this from China in 1998 via the North Koreans. Range: about 1,300Km with a 1,000 Kg payload.

Pak missiles.

Indian missiles.

An interesting tidbit from the site's description of India's Agni long range missile:

"India's turning point came when an openly pro-nuclear government took office in March 1998. The new coalition elected to power pledged, in the words of A.B. Vajpayee, to "exercise all options, including the nuclear option." The new government announced that a new version of the Agni with an extended range was under development".

China does not wanna dance with us (The U.S.). The time they had to dance with us has now come and gone...A few months back, this country was "asleep"..It's fully awake now, and IT IS HUNGRY!!!!> China's upper echelocn knows this; they may have a few Nukes, but they certainly do NOT want to use them against us, they know what will happen (CHina will go from Billions serverd to millions served). Furthermore, China cannot tango with us because our blue water Navy will sink them before they can even get beyond line of sight of their homeland. So with that in mind, how are they gonna be effective against us? China may have "masses", but we have something they cannot contend with; far reaching military supremecy. We can resupply, we can divert, we can strike without warning. China has one chance to "strike without warning", after that, it's billions of body bags for them...and they damn well know it.

Fine. You are entitle to your personal decision. In the meantime I will be stockpiling one week of food and water for my family just in case we have a national contingency. These are crazy times and it doesn't hurt to have some preparations. You might be right about the rads from the Pakistani/Indian fallout, but I rather be prepare and be laughed at than be caught short.
