WE'LL SURVIVE NUCLEAR WAR, SAYS INDIA
India boasted yesterday that it would survive a first strike by a Pakistani atomic weapon, but its neighbour would be wiped out in a swift nuclear counter attack.

"More disturbingly, Pakistan generally keeps its nukes at a higher state of alert" They told the US that they'd dismantled them before the "situation" started, and moved the key parts to different locations. That was their response to our "offer" to take control of their stockpile.

China would never move on India, a stalwart Russian ally currently in a naval alliance with the United States.
Pakistan just became expendable.

What does India have? Primitive fission devices also. If Pakistan wipes out northern india and india destroys pakistan, what will india gain? India may survive, but there will be famines and economic and technological collapse throughout the country. India will be set back 200 years. And then the Chinese will probably come in and colonize the subcontinent.

Is this going to be another sensationalist story that goes like this: a top Indian government official said that India can survive a nuclear war. The quote is so off the record, or fabricrated that it isn't attributed to anyone. It could be that it's Drudge Radio Night! Drudge always has some sensationalistic headline on his site the day of his show. He wants callers and ratings to call in over an unattributed quote.

Speaking of China, I imagine they have a lot to fear along with SE Asia due to the prevailing winds. I'm surprised they are not a little more aggressive in reducing the rhetoric. China is another nation which could stand to lose millions of people. They could care less about the live of their people, let alone India's.

"what will india gain?" It takes care of Pakistan now, before Pakistan gains the weaponary to destroy India as well.

Russia is too weak right now to make a move against China, the U.S may, but China has the ICBM capability to destroy all major U.S cities. Moreover you have realized that on a conventional level the chinese army significantly outclasses their indian counterparts. In terms of logistics, missle capablility, numbers, training, space systems. If it comes down to war, India will face a worse defeat than the one they suffered in the 1962 war.

China won't have the capability to destroy every major US city for a few more years. As of now they can only reach the left coast and have only 200-250 bombs.

I made a mistake in my argument. If china was to compeletly destroy india, the nuclear fallout would sweep through central china and will cause cancer in millions of people. So maybe only the major cities instead of all large indian cities will targeted.

I assure you that China currently can hit the entire U.S. Please go and check up on the capabilities of the DF-5, china has currently deployed 20 of those missles. I think you meant the DF-31 which is not a silo launched ICBM, china was about 30 of those. Now these missles can only hit the west coast of the U.S, but they are mostly targeted on Russia and not the U.S.

"This is what happens when you dont have any Nuclear strikes in a generation. A bunch of idiots who dont comprehend what a Nuclear strike even means. They cannot comprehend the responsibility involved and you get a bunch of loose talk about their use."Sad to say you are right. A nuclear explosion is awesome. It makes a "bunker-buster" a meer "pop" by comparison. The primary effects of fire and blast stretch for 20 to 25 miles. Death in the wider circle from radiation and burns is slow and agonizing. Medical assistance and food distribution shut down. The lands will be uninhabitable for years after. These people do not comprehend what they are unleashing. God save them (and us).

I wouldn't touch India at anything more than 5-2. Their military is, simply, a mess. If it does go nuclear (and it will, especially if the Indian Army gets outmaneuvered early), I rather doubt that Red China will stand by while their proxy in the region gets turned into radioactive bits that might drift past Tibet.

Matt Druge is full of it. I agree!

I think so, and the new warheads that they are using, also U.S miniturization technology. I would go as far as to say that the entire Chinese missile and space tech infrastructure is stolen from the russians and the u.s
