Japan, China, India and Malaysia all have the death penalty. European countries are against the death penalty. We are for it. Who says east is east and west is west?

unfortunately, it seems the only way to stop this imperialist expansion by the sword ... 7th-century thought ...

Thanks for the post you don't want to mess around in Maylaysia for they are very strict.

I remember some dumb Japanese tourist getting convicted of rape on one of the local women in Kuala Lumpur and he got sentenced to 20 years in the local prison, and 20 lashes with the Rotan a 1/2" thick bamboo pole that lays your skin open. And one of the locals showed me the prison and its no reformatory you get punished their with lots of hard labor 7 days a week.

Also when you fly into Maylaysia on your entry card their is a red skull and crossbones that states if you get caught trafficing in drugs its an instant death penalty and no exceptions to this.

It was always interesting walking the streets in Kuala Lumpur as well for always lots of cops on the streets and you really felt very safe in fact safer than a whole lot of places in the US. Especially places in the US where the "Liberal Gulags" are.

That has a nice ring to it. Good for Maylaysia. Hmmm, good for the whole world, too. Thank you, Maylaysia.

"I wish the Phillipines would get serious about catching their rabid Muslim terrorists that kidnap and kill people"

I really liked the story about the Philipino peasants who found a Muslim terrorist from the gang that had over 100 hostages. He was wandering around the woods, apparently lost. Thay ganged up on him and chopped him to bits with their - and his - machetes.

Here in the US, a group of citizens who did the same thing would probably be sentenced to death. Sometimes I think our society is too civilized for our own good.

"Sometimes I think our society is too civilized for our own good."

Me too. For example,I'm also on this other thread, which has Helen Thomas saying that President Bush should be "compassionate" - translation: "lenient" - to Taliban Johnnie Walker.
