Isn't Buffalo where"The Great Stain-Maker"told his lemming like audience that"We Could Have Given You a Tax-Cut,But We couldn't Be Certain That You'd Spend It Right"??I'm certain that he said words to this effect and yet they still voted for him and his SHREW of a"wife??"

A Buffalo couple waits for public transportation on Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo, N.Y., Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001. More than 2 feet of fresh snow closed Buffalo streets and offices Thursday, and robust Lake Erie-fed bands of snow were expected to churn well into the night. (AP Photo/Don Heupel)

Justin Booth pushes his bike through Niagara Square in Buffalo, N.Y., as he makes his way to the train station to get home during a major lake effect snowstorm Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001. City Hall closed at noon and there is a driving ban in the city and surrounding suburbs. Quick! Fire up our tank!
And don't forget some duty-free booze and smokes on the way back, eh ;-)

It's cold down here in Florida too. It must have been down to 55 this morning. I'll be glad when this extremely cold weather is over (this afternoon).

Global Warming! That was last month in Buffalo when they went the month of November without any snow, and some thought it was from global warming.

Don't knock "snowbiking" quite yet. I put the extra knobbies on yesterday and tooled around the area (Williamsville) taking pictures for 2 hours. The deep snow that the rider is pushing through will stop you dead but hard packed ( by snowmobile or SUV ) snow is fast and challenging. The neighborhood has its share of cross-country skiers and snowshoe fans out this morning but for speed and distance give me a mountain bike any day. As for those who think this is something we cower from, just have to say, keep North Carolina, Florida etc. A good snow storm is the wildcard in life up here.Hunkering down with loved ones or complete strangers to ride out a storm is a test to embrace. There is a Conservative feeling to it all also."Are you prepared?, Informed? Strong?".No gov't program is clearing my drive today.2 sons, 3 shovels, bottles of water, ricecrispy treats and Gore tex.Should be enough. Snowboarding with the kids at the park till Midnight last night. Visiting friends on bike or ski's.Backpacking supplies (beer, milk, cheese and macaroni, more beer).Trade THAT for GOLF? riding in a GOLFCART?Go ahead and feel superior if you want to, it doesn't bother us,but these storms are what make neighbors. Also the spike in births come September is a sure sign that all is well deep in the snowbelt.

Now thats a form of exercise I've never tried. Bicycle riding (pushing?) in deep snow. Pushing bikes in snow is for wimps. Those who are really into the sport push around Ford Explorer's.

Hello! Prime Minister Chretien! The Yankees are on their knees! Now's the time to avenge the attacks and humiliations of 1812! Don't think so, unless you're bringing shovels and snowblowers - the QEW has been shut down for the last day or so, too ;)

New ETA model data is troubling...old model had winds about 255 degress over weekend witch would but the band near the NY/PA state line over the weekend..however new model data shows the low over SE CA a bit further west backing the winds a little to 245 degress or so,,which may mean the band will be moving between buffalo and the state line over the weekend..
